Why do people think the Bucks are going to be good? I like LD and all but that team will not make the playoffs. I'm surprised by Cheeks too. Maybe he has a plan. So far, no good.

I'm just assuming his back is still a problem but starting to wonder why we picked up his option for NEXT season. Nevermind. I think we had to pick it up by 11/1 or lose the option right?

Damn. I totally thought we'd be better than the Pacers. Oh well. Seriously though. Every game has been close. We have a new coach with almost all new players most of which have never played in the nba before. Saying this is some kind of honeymoon period of decent play that will go terrible later doesn't seem right to me. Execution will get better, Dennis will get better. Lou will help. I mean we have Cartier Martin and Pero Antić as our first guys off the bench. What is the expectation here? I think we will continue to be competitive but of course we can't compare ourselves to the top teams in the league.

Dude its been 5 games. If we don't have it clicking on all cylinders by now it ain't happening. You don't see teams who 'get it' like the Rockets getting punked by crappy teams like the Lakers. I mean they have two superstars AND two legit centers.

I place the blame squarely on Jared Cunningham. I'm serious. Makes just as much sense.

Antić still isn't comfortable out there on the offensive end but seems like he is getting better. I'm hoping he can provide good backup minutes off the bench for our bigs. Right now there is just too much on Teague, Milsap, Horf. The rest of the guys are good players but can't be counted on night in and night out.

Yes. If we wanted something for Teague then we had to match his offer. Dennis is great and he looks good so far but there is no guarantee that he will exceed Teague.

Agreed. And he needs to save all his energy for the playoffs.

I'd be shocked if Ferry and Bud have any interest in Melo. He doesn't fit our culture.

I wish we still had Zaza but he did get a pretty nice contract if i remember right. 3 years? Still, he wanted to be here, he was always solid, and was an offensive rebounding machine. I don't know if he's the answer for a starting center next to horf or not. Maybe one day we can bring him home. What i do know is Zaza should never have to buy a beer, or Courvoisier, in this town for the rest of his life.

This is strange. So we are the shortest team in the league? And the Mavs are second shortest? I wouldn't have guessed that. Still i'm suprised by the BMI. Who on the Hawks is carrying a lot of weight for their frame? I can't think of anyone other than Antić or maybe Brand.

I've been really impressed with Bud so far and i was very skeptical. To come out of the gate with all new players, no real scorers, and a bunch of first time nba'rs and play this well has been a pleasant surprise. Seems like he's sitting guys who don't rise to the occassion like Scott and playing guys that are doing well like Cartier. I like Antić. I'd like to see him continue to get time but all in all pretty good.

With as good a jumper (or set shot maybe) that Al has I think he should shoot a few 3s. If he pulls his man out of the lane it can open up some great cuts for others. Teague has been fantastic imo. Seems like he had a lot of detractors who aren't saying much right now. He's definitely made mistakes but all points are going to have screw ups with the ball in their hands that much. He's running a new offense with a ton of new players.

Not trying to be a smart ass but i think the word you're looking for is spelled 'duo' Anyway. I agree. Love watching these guys play.

I"ve heard rumors that the coaching staff asked Incognito to toughen him up. If that's the case its going to take on a whole new dimension.

So far I'm not convinced that Milsap can't play the 3. I know that's a double negative.

I thought i would, and i will always wish him well and be a fan but I"m not missing him at all. I know some folks around here really liked woody but when he left my stress level watching the hawks went down 50% because there was so much less stupid offense. Now that Josh is gone its dropped another 50%. What a friggin delight to watch guys put in max effort and make mostly smart decisions.

Its still early but how many people were saying 'we lost too much talent' and milsap was no josh smith. I don't know what Mo cheeks is doing up there but i really thought he'd reign him in more.

We closed it out though. We hit some sloppy play and bad luck but we're still learning. I"m not that upset we blew a big lead. I'm happy we had a big lead to blow (that didn't sound great) All I could think at the end of that game is : who in the hell still wishes that was smoove out there instead of milsap? Step back 3 that he drains. Floaters in the lanes. great assists, good rebounds. 3 double, doubles on the road from our 3 best players. Go Hawks.
