  1. Well said GM. I could have used some Jared Cunningham attacking Monta. I didn't feel we went after Monta and Dirk enough on the offensive end. We made it too easy for them to hide. Look at the +/- for the Hawks it is really weird. Lineups seemed strange to me but again its game one. I'm not sure how milsap and teague can both play 35 minutes and have a difference of 17 +/-. Well i know how but its seems unlikely. Hopefully the system gets better. We should have posted up Brand more, I didn't see anyone who could guard milsap but didn't really see a lot of plays getting him the ball. But we'll see. Horford, Korver will have better games. Missed Zaza for sure. Need some O Rebounds.
  2. Would have liked to see it. I gotta say that if Josh is a beast this year I will be pissed but at the same time happy for him. Josh/Monore is pretty formidable.
  3. I was going to bow out to except for that last line. lol. So if we stay in the playoffs and in a few years we haven't won a championship then i guess many will feel 'right'? But since we previously tanked and had about 6 or 7 lottery picks and still failed to build a contender that isn't a failure of the process but simple a failure of BK? You're right though. We aren't going to settle this so let's play ball!!!!!!!
  4. Maybe i'm not following you but in the case of the Hawks we have secured assets through the draft lottery. Lots of them in fact. So like everyone else we are searching to put together those missing pieces. I don't think anyone is suggesting we forgo drafting at all. I know we've beat this thing to death but my point is that going into the draft lottery it is much more likely that we don't end up with a franchise player (meaning a real star) than it is that we do. I don't see how that can be debated. Certainly we need to get talent through the draft as well as through FA and trades. Absolutely. The real issue is there aren't 30+ franchise talent level players. Most teams will be SOL.
  5. Actually i much prefer Lou to Crawford. Crawford makes Lou look like Tony Allen on defense. I think Lou's impact is really underrated. I agree with the article that we need more size and defense at the 2 but as a scorer off the bench Lou is really good.
  6. There are a lot more failure stories than success stories when it comes to tanking and drafting. No one seems to want to admit that. Now the Bulls obviously are a very successful franchise but of the other three with the most top 3 picks (not even talking the whole lottery) its pretty much misery. I mean if we're going to keep throwing out Duncan and KD might as well look at the other possibilities. http://blogs.thescore.com/tbj/2012/05/29/eleven-factual-tidbits-regarding-the-nba-lottery/ 2003 I think there were 4 all nba players and they were all selected in the top 5. So what are the chances there are 4 all nba players in this draft, then what are the chances that we land in the top 5, and then the chances that we make the right pick. Is it more likely that all those cards fall right and we end up with Kevin Durant than us ending up with player on the level of Horford, Teague, Josh, or Marvin?
  7. Except that isn't something different. Its exactly what we did when BK took over. Tanked, hit the lottery for years. Was out of the playoffs for what 6 years and then became that treadmill team. So that didn't work so well just as it doesn't work most of the time. Of course when it works its spectacular but its still a long shot.
  8. I'm praying we can foster a culture of losing and huge draft failures.
  9. Here are the starters: TEAGUE - HORFORD MILSAP KORVER: CARROLL JUST KIDDING - JUNKYARD DOG:
  10. I think the Bucks want in the lottery. I'm also thinking Toronto may opt for that too eventually. Detroit Cleveland Washington Atlanta will fight for 3 playoff spots i think.
  11. Agreed. It clearly states if Dennis and Jenkins show they are capable off the bench then trading Lou makes a lot of sense. Getting a starting quality 2 who can defend would be huge for this team.
  12. That link isn't working. Is it a live draft? Does anyone do auto drafts anymore? That would help me a lot.
  13. http://www.csnne.com/blog/celtics-talk/blakelys-eastern-conference-preview?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo From the 'Celtics insider' but is he really equating the loss of Josh/Zaza/Harris to Pierce/Garnett/Terry? Yawn.
  14. I've got to think they have given him the choice. I agree we have nothing to gain by him staying for this train wreck season. Don't see why they wouldn't give him the choice though.
  15. That's true but Horford, Smith, Teague and Korver took us to the 6th seed last year. that was light years ahead of what philly, phx, no, toronto did. So in that respect we had a much better team to build on. Who knows though maybe it is wait and tank. if we're 4 games from dropping out of the playoff race at the trade deadline Horford may be gone. I like the direction we've gone. Its a mistake to say we haven't improved when we haven't even played a game and its a mistake to say that anyone in the east other the Heat is a legit contender. Pacers, Bulls, Nets and Knicks all have some potential issues despite looking good right now. We have some trades we can look at so i'm not writing us off yet. I'm fine with tanking if we truly aren't any good. But we have some talent here.
  16. Well Lebron is certainly not a hero in Cleveland.
  17. I think we all agree that's the right course for some teams but not all. Seriously how hard of a decision was it for philly and phx to tank. They had nothing going on already.
  18. I thought it was being called the HighIQFactory
  19. Its amazing how many people are so much smarter than nba GMs. Its simple. Trade away your talent, lose most your games, and a guaranteed superstar will fall in your lap in the draft. If you don't think this you are an idiot who likes being a loser and probably works out on a treadmill. Yours truly, BK
  20. I was feeling like it was PHX too. But not every gm subscribes to this though. Look at the number of teams in the east that made big efforts to get better. Tanking is an easy decision when you have no good players and you already suck. Its harder when you've got some players who have no interest in busting their butt for no reason.
  21. That's pretty cool. So I guess you can get it and use it on any device but not have to use it on all? So just use it on the computer i want to use league pass on right?
  22. But league pass is still useless for people in Atlanta who want to watch hawks games. Cable/Satellite/malware are the only choices.
  23. Didn't see the game but the highlights were awesome. This game had everything. Dez Bryant meltdown, Megatron rambling, Stafford gunning. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000270964/GameDay-Cowboys-vs-Lions-highlights http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000270964/GameDay-Cowboys-vs-Lions-highlights Now I'm not knocking Matt Ryan. I'm a huge fan of Matt Ryan but I'm amazed by Stafford's arm. I didn't think he had that great an arm but since i only really watch a lot of Falcons some of these passes from Stafford are friggin long ass bullets across the field that i'm not used to seeing. The last play was priceless.
  24. Not sure why we're taking shots at Al who is clearly our best player. Lou is a good player too. Its typical when guys get hurt for long periods people forget how effective they are. Not a good defender but he's a really good offensive player.
  25. Still saying he doesn't want to be traded but its not as emphatic as it was last week. The Falcons are bad and it seems playoffs are way out of the picture now. I'd think they'd ask him and if he says yes send him over there.
