  1. I think he had a forehead implant. Hell as long as he can play. That camera angle was a little off i think. I sure hope Antić can scrap. I think i'm going to like that guy. His quotes are awesome. What was the one the other day ' I will just do my best '.
  2. I'm considering not watching. Last night was just a disaster and I can't stand all the puig hype. Acted like Upton was scared to go first to third on freeman's single to right because of Puig. The ball was hit so damn hard by freddy that puig had it in his glove before upton got to second. Otis couldn't have made it first to third on that ball. Anyway, we've been somewhat inconsistent all year so hopefully we blow them out tonight. Don't know if i can stay up to 1am though. Stupid LA. Why don't they just get on our time? lol.
  3. Yeah i really have no idea how good he is but i think Teague/JJ/Korver or Teague/Lou/Korver might get blown by quite a bit where we just have a couple of undersized bigs waiting for them at the rim. LOL. I think its not so much that Carroll is a lock down defender but that he is physical and scrappy. Going totally on rep more than anything though.
  4. Damn. That's the coolest thing. Unfortunately the people in front of us were standing i was sitting. I could just make out a little bit.
  5. Carroll better hope he doesn't run into Metta World Peace anytime soon.
  6. Someone has to play defense. Lou / JJ/ Korver combinations would get killed by most of the better wings in the league i think. I don't know lot about him but i think the projected starters of Teague/Carroll/Korver/Milsap/Horford is pretty damn good. Obviously probalby not going to take down the Heat in a seven game series but its balanced, hardworking, and talented. Great shooting, good rebounding, good d.
  7. OMG. That was awful. Was there a gas leak in the building? C'mon guys. Show some personality. And another thing. With all the money nba teams have can't they find someone to make folding chairs that are bigger than normal. Why do these poor guys have to continually sit in chairs that make them look like they're at parent's night for their pre-schooler.
  8. Why do you think that looks stupid?
  9. Nothing yet. Did they have a new campaign? I hope so.
  10. I can't disagree with that but Ryan isn't really average. That is a major weakness but his track record of winning games (prior to this season) is pretty exceptional. Its easy to forget when we're on this downturn but your average qb wouldn't have pulled out as many games as he has. Our running game has never been that great since he's been here except for maybe that first year. I don't feel like we ever had a truly exceptional offensive line but still we won a lot of football games. Roddy, Julio, and Tony G are great receivers no doubt. Of course coming on the heals of Vick, Ryan is the perfect anti-Vick. Merge those two together and you've got one great QB.
  11. I think a lot of "mainstream" beers are underrated. Shiner Bock is one of my favorites. Boddingtons is awesome. I also like old school ales and lagers from the northern breweries that were in Wisconsin, PA, NY etc. in the 50s-70s. Is anyone old enough to have had this one below? I'm not really but Pabst brought it back briefly. Don't know if its still available. Ah the olden days when ball players endorsed beer and cigarettes
  12. Come on. This should be easy. They just need the right trainer:
  13. Went to the game and it was rough. I realize Kershaw is a great pitcher but here were my takeaways: [*]2 strikes? Its going to be a slider in the dirt. Don't swing at that sh** [*]McCann absolutely crushed that ball to left. A little short. I can't remember if i've seen him hit a ball that hard to left field in a while [*]It could have been a lot worse. The Dodgers left a bunch of guys on base [*]Medlen didn't have it. First inning was great but he wasn't fooling anyone after that [*]Gattis. Just because he looks like an old man doesn't mean he's not a rookie [*]Defense - Gattis and E.Johnson - those are errors man [*]Team attitude. Uggla visibly supporting his teammates makes me feel bad about all the crap i said about him...nah [*]its one game against the cy young award winner Well tonight is do or die. We have to win this one.
  14. A lineup of Dennis/Teague/Milsap/Horford/Ayón is intriguing to me. defending the wing might be a problem but it still woudl be interesting to see. sub carroll for milsap maybe.
  15. Probably but most beer snobs actually spend as much time buying beer as drinking it. My friends who just drink Bud or whatever consume about 3 times as much as I do in general. I like beer but i'm pretty amateur at consumption. 2 or 3 and i'm done usually.
  16. I saw on espn this afternoon they gave us the edge in two categories: Bullpen and Home Field LOL. That's the first time i've seen Atlanta fans get a nod. They gave the starting pitching, hitting, and managing to the Dodgers.
  17. My feeling is that they now are friends and have mutual respect but never want to work together again. Frankly that was good advice from SVG.
  18. You could say the Dodgers were coasting but here are some stats for the September Dodgers: September Record: 12-15 102 runs scored (3.78 per game) 102 runs allowed (3.78 per game) Pinch hitting: For the month the Dodgers hit just .184/.196/.327 (9-for-49) with two home runs as a pinch hitter. Runners in Scoring Position: In September, the Dodgers hit .225/.300/.348 with runners in scoring position in 263 plate appearances, with 10 doubles and six home runs. They had a runner on third base with less than two outs 52 times, and got the runner home 18 times, or 34.6% (the entire NL scored 392 of 808 times, 48.5%). They had a runner on second base with nobody out 33 times in September, and the runner advanced 14 times, or 42.4% (the entire NL advanced the runner 307 of 582 times, 52.8%). Ramirez 65 54 12 20 3 0 5 11 9 0/1 .370/.462/.704 1.165 Uribe 82 78 12 24 6 1 5 13 4 1/0 .308/.341/.603 .944 Kemp 39 35 5 11 3 0 1 6 4 0/0 .314/.385/.486 .870 Ethier 45 38 6 8 5 0 2 5 6 0/0 .211/.333/.500 .833 Puig 99 84 13 18 2 0 6 11 10 1/1 .214/.333/.452 .786 I believe Kemp is out right? Still Ramirez and Uribe are hot. I cherry picked the bad stats but i keep hearing the Braves limped into the playoffs but the Dodgers actually had a worse September. Just their July and August sealed the division for them. Also, this is a crummy division: Final National League West Standings Club W-L Pct GB RS RA Dodgers 92-70 .568 -- 649 582 Arizona 81-81 .500 11 685 695 San Diego 76-86 .469 16 618 700 San Francisco 76-86 .469 16 629 691 Colorado 74-88 .457 18 706 760 Sorry this didn't format like i'd hoped http://www.truebluela.com/2013/10/2/4795210/dodgers-september-review-hanley-ramirez-zack-greinke
  19. Its official: 6 outfielders and 5 infielders. That seems weird to me. I suppose Gattis can play 1st in a pinch. I guess we'll see BJ pinch running and subing for Gattis in late innings and probably see Schafer starting some. Pretty solid lineup. I hope McCann is ready.
  20. Has anyone had either of these which are supposed to be lower alcohol ales. I tried both and couldn't really stand either. The Terrapin was slightly better but they are still siting around. Just tastes like i weak beer that they threw a bunch of hops in at the end. But i'm pretty picky. Was wondering if others liked them.
  21. Good one. I haven't had this in a couple years but now i'm jonesin to go get some.
  22. Yes but I don't like that there seem to be some waffling. What's to think about? Not sure who the backup infielders are though. If E Johnson starts at second who do we have? We wouldn't carry Janish over Uggla would we? I guess maybe for defensive purposes. Who am i missing?
  23. Kiss of Death. BJ won't even play much but makes the cover of SI because of his name. I guess they missed this opportunity at the beginning of the season.
  24. Man he's gotten be so pissed at that dude. At the same time I think that's a legit bball play. Play to the whistle. Still a crappy way to blow your knee no matter how you slice it.
