  1. Horford is my favorite player but i agree I don't know why this is such an ongoing issue. There are plenty of other 'undersized' guys playing center in this league. In fact the whole concept seems out of date. I bet there are more starting centers Horford's size than 7 foot,280. The problem isn't the willingness of the Hawks to do something about it. The problem is the lack of talented 'true' centers. It makes no sense to throw someone out there just because they are the right size when the team is better playing undersized. And we sure don't want to spend our wing money on a 7 foot stiff.
  2. Deng's great but i'm not sure we are the type of team that can tie our money up in guys like him. If our money is all in Horford, Deng, Korver, and Teague it's hard to add in another big money player. Those 4 are great players but they aren't taking us to a championship by themselves. All I've seen Deng is looking for a big payday.
  3. That doesn't seem that attractive to the Vikes though.
  4. I"m also a huge fan of Corbin. He had a great combination of size, smarts, speed and effort for a SF. Like KG I think he had the excessive sweat defense working in his favor too. Great stuff JayBird. Seems we may have two top PGs soon. My times have changed.
  5. Behind the scenes with Marvin Williams brings in more viewers i guess.
  6. Cap space is good at not shooting ill advised jumpers though.
  7. I saw that too. He really doesn't have a good sense of self. At some point you have to just learn to keep your mouth shut. The idea that the Magic should retire his number based on his 'accomplishments' there is beyond ridiculous.
  8. Can't Beasley help him with pain management?
  9. Damn man. Screw the Nuggets, screw the Knicks. It'll be funny to see two teams get better when he leaves. Ok, probably won't happen with the Knicks but still. Show some loyalty.
  10. I'm just not seeing where that is significantly different other than I will say we were stronger at the 2 because we had Lou or Harris available. Other than that we replaced Josh with Sap, Zaza with Brand, and Deshawn with Carroll. If Lou was healthy i'd argue we have just as much talent.
  11. Show some accountability. If you fail the field sobriety tests and refuse the breathalyzer that's a problem. There's obviously some legal gaming going on here when he could plead no contest, get his license suspended, get community service, 2 game suspension and move on. Be glad no one got hurt and learn a lesson. Why he wants this cloud over him just to get out of probably a deserved DUI is beyond me. No one is going to believe he was innocent anyway. I'm guessing he probably doesn't want people to see the sobriety test either. Let's play some basketball. Rant over.
  12. Look, if you're going to continue to use things like "facts" and "reason" and "rational arguments" then I'm going to complain to the mods. To balance out your ridiculous post let me just say: tank, suck, short, losers, cheap, stupid, lottery, dwight.
  13. I don't like the Cards. And why can't we have gotten someone like Beltran. We have to watch him destroy in the playoffs for 20 years? We never seem to have the clutch hitters.
  14. LD would certainly get this team in the playoffs. Hopefully Bud is as good or better. Milsap may have some wink-wink deal but all I know is that Korver and Brand, while i'm sure motivated by money like everyone, are at the point where they are looking to win. They see something going on here and they know more than me. Regular season is different than the playoffs and this team can definitely win regular season games. Hopefully by February we may have the chance to get an impact player to help with the playoffs.
  15. Well here is an almost opposite look at the Hawks. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/01/probasketballtalk-2013-14-preview-the-atlanta-hawks/
  16. You know I have some friends who smoke a lot of weed and i think 'you should really quit smoking so much weed' and i have others that smoke a lot of weed and i think 'damn i don't think i could stand to be around you if you quit smoking weed'. Beasley may be in the second group.
  17. Don't forget the 5 minute discussion of the Gold Club. Geez. Did they know this was being filmed?
  18. Last year when we lost Joe Johnson and only replaced him with the Nets bench players people talked about how much we would miss Joe and how much we would suck. We were just as good if not better than his last year here. Now we've lost Josh and Zaza and replaced them with Milsap and Brand and now we're going to totally suck. We'll see. The real truth is no one wants to get behind a team that doesn't have a superstar or wannabe superstar. There are big question marks around everyone in the east except maybe Indy, Chicago, and Miami. NIce of them to suggest we jettison Al for a pile of crap from Chicago so he can team up with Noah. Hopefully we are in a new Hawks era.
  19. Is that his first tattoo? That was one of the things i liked about him. I tell ya I"m not sending any good vibes their way. I hate to wish ill on anyone but if the Nets implode in an ego-fire i will not shed a tear.
  20. Was that you in the vintage green Hawks jersey behind the basket?
  21. Man we have a lot of guys who'd prefer to play PF: Horford, milsap, brand, scott, Antić. I wouldn't mind seeing scott play some 3. I don't know if he can defend it but we had Smoove defending the 3 last year on some guys. I agree that he has been impressive almost every time he's hit the floor for the Hawks.
  22. Well maybe the Falcons are a charity. I mean the Falcons are getting a quarter million dollars from the nice people of Atlanta for a community improvement project.
  23. I think so. I think Ferry is all about being ready to take an opportunity when it arises rather than picking up the best person available in the offseason. I also thinks he believes that trade is the best way to add talent. So I think he wants to have the assets, money, and cap space to pull off the next Pau or Harden trade when someone is ready to dump. I think he also realizes that these opportunities are going to come up more than in the past because of the new cap and tax rules.
