  1. I saw on espn this afternoon they gave us the edge in two categories: Bullpen and Home Field LOL. That's the first time i've seen Atlanta fans get a nod. They gave the starting pitching, hitting, and managing to the Dodgers.
  2. My feeling is that they now are friends and have mutual respect but never want to work together again. Frankly that was good advice from SVG.
  3. You could say the Dodgers were coasting but here are some stats for the September Dodgers: September Record: 12-15 102 runs scored (3.78 per game) 102 runs allowed (3.78 per game) Pinch hitting: For the month the Dodgers hit just .184/.196/.327 (9-for-49) with two home runs as a pinch hitter. Runners in Scoring Position: In September, the Dodgers hit .225/.300/.348 with runners in scoring position in 263 plate appearances, with 10 doubles and six home runs. They had a runner on third base with less than two outs 52 times, and got the runner home 18 times, or 34.6% (the entire NL scored 392 of 808 times, 48.5%). They had a runner on second base with nobody out 33 times in September, and the runner advanced 14 times, or 42.4% (the entire NL advanced the runner 307 of 582 times, 52.8%). Ramirez 65 54 12 20 3 0 5 11 9 0/1 .370/.462/.704 1.165 Uribe 82 78 12 24 6 1 5 13 4 1/0 .308/.341/.603 .944 Kemp 39 35 5 11 3 0 1 6 4 0/0 .314/.385/.486 .870 Ethier 45 38 6 8 5 0 2 5 6 0/0 .211/.333/.500 .833 Puig 99 84 13 18 2 0 6 11 10 1/1 .214/.333/.452 .786 I believe Kemp is out right? Still Ramirez and Uribe are hot. I cherry picked the bad stats but i keep hearing the Braves limped into the playoffs but the Dodgers actually had a worse September. Just their July and August sealed the division for them. Also, this is a crummy division: Final National League West Standings Club W-L Pct GB RS RA Dodgers 92-70 .568 -- 649 582 Arizona 81-81 .500 11 685 695 San Diego 76-86 .469 16 618 700 San Francisco 76-86 .469 16 629 691 Colorado 74-88 .457 18 706 760 Sorry this didn't format like i'd hoped http://www.truebluela.com/2013/10/2/4795210/dodgers-september-review-hanley-ramirez-zack-greinke
  4. Its official: 6 outfielders and 5 infielders. That seems weird to me. I suppose Gattis can play 1st in a pinch. I guess we'll see BJ pinch running and subing for Gattis in late innings and probably see Schafer starting some. Pretty solid lineup. I hope McCann is ready.
  5. Has anyone had either of these which are supposed to be lower alcohol ales. I tried both and couldn't really stand either. The Terrapin was slightly better but they are still siting around. Just tastes like i weak beer that they threw a bunch of hops in at the end. But i'm pretty picky. Was wondering if others liked them.
  6. Good one. I haven't had this in a couple years but now i'm jonesin to go get some.
  7. Yes but I don't like that there seem to be some waffling. What's to think about? Not sure who the backup infielders are though. If E Johnson starts at second who do we have? We wouldn't carry Janish over Uggla would we? I guess maybe for defensive purposes. Who am i missing?
  8. Kiss of Death. BJ won't even play much but makes the cover of SI because of his name. I guess they missed this opportunity at the beginning of the season.
  9. Man he's gotten be so pissed at that dude. At the same time I think that's a legit bball play. Play to the whistle. Still a crappy way to blow your knee no matter how you slice it.
  10. Maybe they aren't coming back. You never know with injuries and when they come back will they be like Roddy and Baker? It doesn't take long for a season to slip away in the nfl. I hope you're right but i'm worried. Its one thing to say 'well we let that one slip away and should have won' but when you say that 3 out of your first 4?
  11. According to USA Today we are more watchable than the Lakers. There are some real questionable ones ahead of us of course. Pelicans? Celtics? I haven't read them so maybe some are the train wreck principle. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2013/09/13/watchability-rankings-atlanta-hawks-al-horford/2798711/
  12. Who is that James Johnson? Where is Scott?

    Al's shoulder

Is that the side he injured? Sometimes the pain goes on for a while on those types of things i think. At least its the left.
  14. That's crazy. I'm guessing the players aren't too happy with that.

  16. They were all over Julio at first. I think it was more of NE deciding they better cover Gonzo that got Julio going. Roddy being limited is totally hurting us though, i agree with that. The D looks shaky but it looked shaky last year. It's giving us a chance and we can't capitalize. No pass rush though.
  17. That's the thing. We should have won every game so far except the offense just didn't execute. Not that the defense was solid either but the offense had a chance to win every game. Tonight will be the hardest I've ever rooted for the Dolphins. I hope they can pull this one out.
  18. lineup prediction? Heyward J-Up Freeman Gattis McCann C-Johnson Uggla Simmons I think E-Johnson should start a 2nd but don't have much hope in that. Would like to see Schafer in there too. I'll be there chopping Thursday. Wish they'd give us a game time. Dodgers-Braves should be considered a pretty popular game this year.
  19. If only we had J Up and Gattis last year. It helps when you replace a hall a famer with a guy who comes out of nowhere to almost win a batting title (2nd to a Rockie is winning a batting title in my book).

    Jeffy

Jenkins looks like he last weight which is probably a good idea. Dennis doesn't look any bigger to me. Get him some american cheeseburgers.

    Playoffs?

As others have said Heat/Bulls/Pacers/Ny/bkn are pretty well a lock barring injuries. But that leaves 3 spots for Atlanta, Detroit, Washington, Milwaukee, Toronto, and Cleveland. So are we better than at least 3 of those teams? I think we're probably better than all of them but we'll see. Frankly its coaching. If Bud is any good we'll be in the playoffs. But we don't really know if Bud is any good.
  22. Man i missed the whole damn series. That's awesome. Its going to be hard for the Dream to compete with Braves playoffs and of course the usual college football but I'll be watching. Thanks for the updates.
  23. Ugh. Did anyone in Atlanta believe we'd get that last TD? I don't think so. Matty Ice needs to figure some things out. You know i was thinking that Ryan goes about 8-9 on the opening drive of every game. After that opening drive he must be about 7-20. He looks scared to make a play this season and that isn't the Ryan I know. At some point you have to risk the INT. As much as I don't like Collinsworth he was absolutely right. When Gonzo has a defender on his back hit him in the chest. I will say that Ryan made a perfect pass to that giant TE we have but he just dropped it. Defense is pretty average, running game is decent, protection isn't that bad, but passing game is out of sync. Roddy being hurt is a problem but Ryan missing guys by 10 feet is a bigger problem.
  24. OOOOO. I remember that. I thought you meant he actually made good passes off the backboard. Yeah that was horrible. I love the title of the video.
