That is true final. It is easy to criticize now that Paul was ROY, but at 2 almost everyone said that Marvin Williams would be a star from the draft. I still hold that belief.

Diesel, what's your problem with Marvin other than you don't like that we drafted him instead of Chris Paul. I'm just asking because you're always critical of him and I don't see where he is bad. Other than being timid somewhat....he has the necessary tools to be more than your boy Shelden.

The game of basketball is not about being on highlight reels dunking. They make for ESPN yes. The similarities were that they progressed from unsure rookies, to better rookies to improved players. The key is the second year. Josh is more than a dunker now, his game has improved. I would expect the same from Marvin.

I certainly wouldn't mind Miller, but does anyone else think that Childress's play is eerily similar to Diaw's with the exception of far better production? I think that Chillz is at least on par or better than Diaw and given the right system would prove it!

What's more amazing is that people who don't agree with the majority have to hear about their true "fanship." Which is total stupid! Boston fans, New York fans, LA fans all get upset to a higher degree if there are moves that they don't agree with. I don't agree with all of BK's move, but when I do agree I say so. I hated the draft which some of you still hate that we disagree with BK, but I'll support the Hawks and the players in uniform. Doesn't make us any less loyal than the guys with 1000 posts and great signatures!

I have to admit that for all the physical skills that had scouts drooling, I didn't see it at the beginning of last year. But as the season went on his play was similar to Josh Smith's progressions during his first year. If Marvin hits the gym, eats some gun powder and develops a killer mentality, he'll realize his potential more than people want to give him credit for. I think he's going to be more than just solid. I see Shelden as just solid and Marvin better than that.

If you thought Billy got blasted by picking Shelden, just wait til he announces this stupid trade! Nothing doing without recouping a 1st round pick...and I would hope with all the interest Harrington is drawing, Billy would do more. Ben Wallace is the only other free agent who'd garner as much attention. Wonderful if the rumor is false!

I'm glad you're getting the love, but I"m not for the pick. I thought it sucked. That being said, I will support Shelden and hope he proves me wrong. I would love for Shelden to shut me up...and those of you who support or like Diesel and his interesting banter would be happy as well. WELCOME ABOARD. P.S. Althought I've been a Hawks fan since I was born presumably (I still have a polaroid taken with Dan Roundfield, Charlie Criss, and Tree Rollins).

I'm a grown man Diesel...and I don't cry. Call it whining if you will, but it's amazing that you're not the GM with your vast array of knowledge. If you read, I think you'll see that at least I have never said I'm done being a Hawks fan. I said that I wasn't a fan of the pick at 5. I stand by that. As much as you say he's what we need, that may be right, but it could be wrong too. I'd expect your MW trade posts to pick up now too.

Well, Dejay...I agree with you, but now that we have Shelden we have to listen to people say we're whining..etc, etc. Mr.H, I'm glad you have a lot of posts, but before you criticize fans and members of this board, realize that it's opinion and as such I don't like the pick AT 5. Simply put, if BK had not made the promise, two players were there that we could have used to 'bargain' down even two positions. I'm hoping he does what he's supposed to do according to the genuises that like the pick. All we can do is revisit this site again a year from now and debate how good or crappy this pick was.

MW...careful with the bitches comment. Disagreements don't mean you're not a Hawks fan. Just because you love the pick or have how ever many posts means JACK! Other than that, I would think we're still in decent position to do some things. If we go into the season with Lue as the starter, I don't care what you think of the draft, it's going to suck! I'd like to get a PG that can grow with the team. This team also needs to open up the floor a little and run. We'll see........AL's number is coming up soon.

Diesel, I would certainly stop belly-aching if the Hawks get AI. I'm not a fan of Shelden, nor do I think we should have taken him at 5. The problem was there could have been something done if the "promise" hadn't been made. We could have parlayed the majority interests in Foye and Roy and done more with the pick. But it's water under the bridge now. I'll support Shelden, but he's certainly not a sexy pick. (Literally either!)

Funny how when you disagree vehemently about BK and a move, we're whiners. I've been an Atlanta fan since I was born...I don't need Mr..whatever or anyone else playing loyalist when they don't know me. I love the Hawks, but face it the damn GM blew this one. It was the worst draft we've had in years. If he were playing chess, I would hope he laid down his King early......CHECKMATE!

Why is it that the world knew we'd draft this "solid" guy before we had to make it known. This was the worst kept secret in the NBA...other than BK Flucking up the pick. Please...we are fans..and as such we have the right to grumble..And I have an opinion and could care less if you don't like it. It's not meant to make you happy. The draft was disaster in my opinion.

This is the worst pick since...Well, it's just a terrible pick. Why not choose Foye, Roy..and Portland would have done something!...They want him badly and made out like bandits. BK Must go!

BK has cemented himself in the annals or anals of draft idiocy! He hasn't a clue! We will regret passing on at least 3 players I know of....Roy, Foye, Gay (Even if to trade)! This draft should be his last. What an idiot!

Shelden may never start? That's insane. Why would you draft a bench player? I believe if we draft Shelden he would start. I think that would suck, but that's me. BPA should be the way to go...not necessarily forward, but Best Point? Available C? If Aldridge is not there and we're not taking Foye or Roy, trade down and maybe grab O'Bryant or Shelden.
