  1. Houston must know something we don't.
  2. The Hawks borrowed something from the Birds (concession price cut), and how the Birds are benchmarking the Hawks: Atlanta Falcons hire Ryan Cameron as game announcer at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Former V-103 host Ryan Cameron will be adding to his sports announcing duties by becoming the game-day announcer at Mercedes Benz Stadium for Atlanta Falcons games starting next month. He made the three-year deal public last Friday at the Georgia Aquarium where he was co-hosting the Beulah Heights University Centennial Celebration with Monica Pearson. For 14 years, Cameron has been the ebullient in-game announcer for the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena. His distinctive wordplay and power at the mic has made him a fan favorite at games, the type of work that the Falcons hope he can replicate at Mercedes Benz starting this fall. “Ryan is an Atlanta icon with a passion for Atlanta sports and the Atlanta Falcons,” said Pete Soto, senior director, game presentation, live events and stadium production, AMB Sports + Entertainment. “He has a unique delivery style that engages fans to participate in the stands and we are thrilled to have him as part of the Brotherhood.” In an exclusive interview, Cameron said the NFL used to want game show announcers to stay bland and neutral but the league is loosening the rules and allowing more “hometown” favoritism. The Falcons approached him, he said. Cameron, a life-long Atlantan, is a big-time Falcons fan. He has been a season ticket holder since 1998 when the Falcons lost in the Super Bowl to the Denver Broncos. “I have done travel and parties and trips on buses and trains and planes to New Orleans for more than 15 years as the No. 1 Saints hater of all time,” Cameron said. “For me to go from the stands to the mic is really a big deal to me.” While working with V-103, he also did the pre-game Falcons games for sister station 92.9/The Game for free in 2016-17.
  3. Hawks will reduce concessions prices at Philips Arena (AJC) I wonder how this offsets the fee they're adding to all event tickets in the arena. Still, looks like a good move so far.
  4. This team will be unrecognizable by the time game 1 rolls around. I just wonder this will be a replay of 2005
  5. All eye candy is welcome on the sidelines.
  6. Decent looking site. Not a Schultz fan ,and I met the guy, but their national coverage looks legit.
  7. Has this dude been following this team? https://www.ajc.com/news/local/man-tried-hire-hitman-kill-cobb-wife-for-10k-hawks-tickets/rNB1XtRgE3tGMlqV0O5lOK/ An Acworth inmate promised $10,000 and two Atlanta Hawks tickets to anyone who could kill his ex-wife and her current boyfriend. Word got around, including to an FBI informant. Michael Lawrence Dane McEarchern, 29, was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday, according to federal court documents. McEarchern was in Bartow County jail during October on drug charges when he started circulating his want to hire a hitman. The FBI found out from the confidential informant and they had McEarchern send a $800 down payment to a P.O. box in late November to see if he was serious, according to federal court records. His girlfriend at the time sent the money for him. McEarchern told the would-be assassin where his ex-wife lived in Smyrna, what the best time of day would be to find her, and which barbershop the current boyfriend worked at. McEarchern was indicted on charges in the murder-for-hire plot at the start of the year. He pleaded guilty and was convicted in late April. Federal court documents show he’ll have three years of supervised release after prison.
