  1. I find it strange that Deng has drawn the ire of some posters here. There's only one person responsible for the situation Ferry is in right now and it's not Deng.
  2. I'm torn on this. I always felt Josh got a bad rap here to the point here his negatives got blown out of proportion and those negatives were all some people could see. He brings a LOT of good things to the table. But he developed some bad habits here that he's still struggling with. If he can fully 'buy in' to what Bud is doing here then I'd be fine with it.
  3. Hey pal, don't tear your rotator cuff patting yourself on the back! But you were absolutely right though, unfortunately.
  4. With the timing of this interview, it makes me think Thabo delayed talking to the media to avoid being a distraction to the Hawks during their playoff run. That's very team oriented and coincides with his reputation around the league. I really hope the guy gets justice if he was indeed falsely arrested. But regardless of why he was arrested, there's no excuse for him having a broken leg and ligament damage after being in police custody.
  5. This thread should be locked so this madness can stop. The series is over and we still have Cavs fans joining here to not only defend what's his face but also accuse Hawks players of dirty play during the series and 8 friggin years ago. All this just to excuse that goon's reckless play??? I'm tired of seeing this butt face's name on the front page of the Squawk. Lock this.
  6. It's star/superstar money and locks us into a team that may not get us to the Finals. But it's not my money or decision, so let the chips fall where they may.
  7. This guy has been awesome since he was brought on board.
  8. I don't agree with this.Lebron, Curry, and Harden are all scorers but they also distribute for their teams. The Cavs had the Hawks scrambling on defense. The Hawks were easy to defend vs the Cavs this season and last season vs the Pacers. It's not an either/or thing when it comes to having a scorer. Find a scoring threat that is also a willing passer and we won't have these scoring droughts anymore. A scorer can pu the ball in the basket(FGs or FTs) until he draws the attention of the opposing team's defense and pass when the defense collapses on him initiating the passing game again. If anything, this makes us harder to defend.

    Shelvin Mack

Our guys were geting flat out beat up out there.
  10. This team does indeed need a scorer. But that scorer also has to be a willing passer when the defense collapses on him. Then when the defense focuses their attention on him, use that to move the ball again. I'm not sure I even care about the efficiency of the player as long as he can put the ball in the basket and get to the free throw line when needed. The Hawks' offense last night was borderline unwatchable and the defense was nothing to write home about either. But I think the lack of defense had to do with fatigue and injury whereas the offensive issues were due to not having anyone that could get his own shot consistently outside of Teague.
  11. I love Al but he went out like a chump, sorry. At least give the Hawks an 'average' performance in the biggest game of the season. But he may have been injured though. He had to be injured because that wasn't like Al at all. Nabisco Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies comes to mind when I think about last night's performance.
  12. Just get it to a Game 5.
  13. People still talk about that series whenever there's a discussion about the league being rigged. Now if the Kings would've just walked off the court during game 6, I would've fully understood why. In fact, they should've just walked off the court to make a statement since they weren't being allowed to compete. The only reason that level of biased officiating hasn't been seen since is because both fans and the media were all over it and it made the NBA look bad. It was too blatant.
  14. I'm glad someone else noticed that. You can't have it both ways. Scratch that, you CAN have it both ways but you have to find a star that fits the system whether it's through free agency, trades, or the draft. It doesn't always have to be an either/or situation. There are plenty of stars out there who can get their own shot AND create offense for others. But back to the subject, you can't fault Teague for not being a superstar on a nightly basis. He's not that type of player. None of the Hawks are.
  15. I didn't hear no bell! Win Game 4 and anything is possible.
  16. Hawks need a goon next season.
  17. The poster who posted those pictures probably isn't a Hawks fan at all as you can see by the join date. Don't take it personal. His stay here will be short. Oh, and Delly is a dirty player at worst or a reckless player at best. The results are the same so it's hard to tell. He put Korver out of the Playoffs and beyond and could have easily done the same to Horford tonight so he gets no sympathy from me. I'm sure you guys absolutely love him but you can't honestly expect for anyone here to feel the same.
  18. You can't max these guys out. I'd love them both to stay here, but not at superstar prices. The days of having to over pay to get guys to stay here should be over.
  19. Let's go. These guys have yet to play like the precision machine we all saw during the regular season. Yes some parts are missing or banged up, but the Hawks are due for a good game. I just hope tonight will be the start of a 4 game winning streak. These losses wouldn't sting so bad if the Hawks were playing as well as they could play but still losing. I'm just saying, leave it all out there on the floor.
  20. That's right, the series isn't over yet. There's still 2 games left for the Hawks to play the way we know they are capable of. But the guys look like they've forgotten how they won 60 plus games this season. They can still be competitive if they play how they did earlier this year even without Korver.
  21. And that's another forbidden topic. Besides we are having a hard enough time of drafting anybody worthy of note in the teens, even with a genius GM. Ok, that's my third bitter post. I'll stop.
  22. This thread won't be received well since that team has a superstar and this board is anti-superstar since superstar = iso play to most here for some reason. The irony of that is GSW leads the Playoffs in assists.
  23. Typical of ATL sports. It's not even surprising anymore.
  24. Somebody made a post in Jan/Feb about the Hawks 'peaking' too early. That's starting to be the truth unfortunately. We keep waiting for that team to show up again.
