Although I really like Chandler's defensive potential, I do NOT want to give him big money, I'd rather Chicago match. Chandler's injury history and back just really scares me. Plus he's still skinny as hell, which to me means his physical play is gonna get him injured again. And he still hasn't proven AT ALL that he can be a starting Center and play the whole game there.

Whats the big deal?? Ok he's like 23-24, a great shotblocker, great defense, athletic with all the potential in the world, and has never been given a chance to start. Those are the kind of players rebuilding teams take chances on. He's put up good numbers every chance he's had a good amount of minutes. Plus he'd be great for a fast break team which we would have, and much better for the PF position than Harrington. I mean he averaged almost 11/6 coming off the bench w/o a lot of minutes on probably the deepest team in the league, where he is like the 7th option. I agree we should not pay him more than about 7.5 mil/year. That 'no heart' thing that Nich was talking about doesn't even matter, his ankle probably just didn't feel right, only he knows what it felt like, it doesn't matter what the doctors say. Look at Michael Vick last year. And how many extra games did he miss, 2 or 3 games? He knew he was about to go into the biggest offseason of his career, he wasn't going to risk coming back early to re-injure it even worse and go into the offseason crippled. Why don't you check Swift's background, I haven't, but I would bet that he has NO history of having no heart or not wanting to play.

I like Dooling. He's really quick and athletic and can get by anybody, a really good playmaker. I like the idea of going for him cheap.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Everyone knows about Jordan, I think he's the one exception. Magic had Kareem, one of the top 5 greatest centers ever. Bird was also one of the greatest but he still had Parish and Walton.. Neither Magic nor Bird would have won a championship with a center the caliber of Jordan's Bulls, unless they had a Scottie beside them also.

I don't know for sure but are you saying that a 2nd round pick can't be our future pg? Chris Duhon would have something to say about that, and Dee has already mentioned his name. I know you're going to pull the 'Duhon was a PURE pg in all his years at Duke and was a proven passer etc', but Dee definately has the potential to be a great passer also. He is also a lot quicker, can shoot a LOT better, and can penetrate the D more. I mean I think he would have a great chance to be our future pg, although I'm not saying he will or would. Plus he was already regarded as a great player like 2 years ago before anyone knew anything about Luther Head or Deron Williams, he carried that team. And I always knew of him as a good PG, not SG.

Actually once Bogut gets in the NBA, he will not be double teamed which means he will not have all those "pass over the top" passes to open players cutting to the basket. Almost all his passes are over the top or a kick out for a 3, it is nothing special. Plus his conference's opposing Centers are like 6-7! He just passes over them. Find me a game against a decent non-conference team in which he played against a 7 footer and had good assist numbers. He had I think none or maybe one in the USA game, and he had none against Kentucky, and their centers are horrible, please don't say Morris. BTW look at his shooting percentage for that game. In the NBA he won't shoot as high a percentage, he'll have a lot less assists, and will be matched physically every night. He had 20/10 against Frye and had like 3 assists, but he also gave up 19/9 to him (Espn.com) in Frye's 28 minutes. I could be wrong and he might be able to demand a double team, but I just don't see him being able to get as many assists and back people down near as well in the NBA. And we all know he isn't going to noticeably improve our defense whether you believe it or not. Lets face it the game against Duncan wasn't that great. That 11/8 was in like 30 something minutes of play. Plus our own David Anderson had like 8/8 in a lot less minutes.

You are right that Shaq is more valueble than a Kobe or McGrady to the team. The reason is because ANY dominating Big Man is more important than a superstar guard. Think of the last really good big man that wasn't consistently in the playoffs, with or without a great team around him. You can't, or you will have to think really hard. WHY? Because of #1 high percentage shots. Shaq will score 30 a game on about 15 shots or less most of the time. ANY great guard will NEVER consistently score 30 a game unless they take AT LEAST 20 shots a game, it just can't happen because guards cannot take as high of percentage shots as big men. Also big men clog the paint, and draw double teams that are easy for a big man to pass out of. Plus it just alters an entire defense. You are right about having playmakers, that is what I want. We need people that can pass, and that is why I'm the highest on Raymond Felton, I just hope there is some way we will get him. He's as fast as anyone, is a 100% PURE pg (for you D. Brown critics), and would improve Smoove, Chill, Al, and possibly Swift or Daly's game so much because he is such a great passer and is so good on the fast break. He plays great D and is a little taller and stockier than Paul so he won't get posted up. Plus he also shot like 45% from 3 this year, and that is considered his weakness.

You are right about LeBron's Cavs, but every one of those players other teams are not good enough to win either, with the exception of Boston, they just couldn't handle Indiana's D and physical presence. BTW, Paul Pierce is NOT Kobe, McGrady, Iverson or LeBron anyways. Iverson starts with a rookie, a 2nd year player (Korver), Dalembert who hasn't reached his potential, and the aged Chris Webber who has been very ineffective. That team had no chance to win it all. You can't say that Iverson doesn't know how to play team ball because he averaged right at 8 assists this year, and he's taken his team to the Finals before, mainly with great defense. BTW, who is Philly's best player off the bench? Probably Mark Jackson, that is not good.. Everyone knew the Lakers were gonna be bad this year, they have no PG, no Center, and Odom is NOT a PF, he is a lot less effective there, especially on D. Who was the best player off of the Lakers bench this year? Tierre Brown? Jumaine Jones? Please.. We all know McGrady is all Houston really has, they also have no PG, ABSOLUTELY no PF or 2 guard, and Yao Ming is just not that dominating. BTW, what does Houston's bench look like? None of those teams had a complete starting 5 or a decent bench. Lets face it the NBA is just getting more and more talented. I mean look at the starting 5 at each position of every team left in the playoffs, almost EVERY player is a pretty good player, and they all have a pretty good bench. The only real exception is the Heat, but they have Shaq and D. Wade..

I don't consider Daly/Chandler/Curry/Swift/Johnson/Hughes stars, we haven't talked about getting any star players on our team. The only one is hopefully Josh Smith, and I hope he DOES become an all-star player. BTW, the reason Iverson, Pierce, McGrady, Kobe, LeBron are no longer or not in the playoffs is because of their role players and/or bench, which you said. But you failed to mention that all the teams left in the playoffs also have superstars except Detroit, but everyone already knows about them. Are you saying Duncan, Nowitzki, Nash (MVP), A. Stoudemire, J. Oneal, Shaq, Wade, Ray Allen, Arenas are not stars? All of those were all-stars this year and I probably missed a couple, but either way we DO need a star-caliber player, and hopefully Josh Smith can be that for us, or maybe one of our other players will step up. And although Detroit doesn't have a superstar in their starting 5, EVERY one of those players would be MUCH more than a role player anywhere else. Look at Hamilton when he was in Washington, Sheed in Portland, Billups was a good scorer everywhere else, McDyess was a former all-star. And we all know how important Big Ben would be for any other team.

I completely agree that we should get Dee Brown. I mean, with the 31st pick how is the Big 10 player of the year a bad pick? He will be one of the quickest players in the league and has a chance to do very well, especially on a team in need of a point guard, plus he shoots very well and is a great penetrator of the D. I mean, if we go big with our first pick, what PG are we gonna sign this year that we KNOW will be a sure thing better than Dee Brown? Besides, it is a 2nd rounder, and if he doesn't work out we aren't locked up with a contract. BTW, if y'all think he is JT (which he isn't), I would LOVE to have JT with the 31st pick and for less than a mil a year..

nah I think he got you, all that stuff about "preseason doesn't matter he was supposed to be ready" says that you said Chill was going to be a bust, and you acted as if there was no hope he could become even a decent player. lol, don't pick two words out of the whole context and say that justifies what you said. But about Kwame, if we can get him for about 6 or 7 mil/year, I say go for it. Bogut may also be 7', but he's not as strong, athletic, or as good defensively. When you see Kwame play, he just looks like he could be so great, and he could, it's just like he doesn't have the confidence to take control on offense. That could have something to do with Jordan, because being a highly touted 18 year old out of high school playing with Jordan, there were some big expectations. And we all know about Jordan riding his teammates if they didn't perform well, he could have killed Kwame's confidence early and he probly just needs a change of scenery like Jermaine..

I agree, I'd rather draft Felton or Green at #3 or 4 if that was the case. This kid is weak and will get completely dominated physically. He doesn't even play on his team in Europe, and his averages are less than 2 pts and 2 boards a game..

If that were the case, the starters would be Watson/Childress/Harrington/Swift/Dalembert. Williams and Smoove would come off the bench.. I like the idea of Williams much better than Paul or Bogut, who I don't really like either of. I don't think Louis is coming out this year..

Your saying we needed more scoring? We scored 105 points! That means that we lost because of defense, we have zero and Bogut wouldn't help it either.. Back to the topic, I would take Felton over Paul 100%. Felton plays GREAT defense, is a little taller and stockier and won't get posted up or manhandled by bigger guards. He is also the best passer in the draft and would help our offensive flow tremendously. Plus he's the Don of running the fast break and with Smoove, Chill, Harrington, Donta, and possibly Swift or Daly that's what I want.. And contrary to what most people believe, he is actually a very good shooter this year..

I completely agree about Bogut, I am definately not sold on him. Sure, he might end up being a great offensive Center ala Big Z, but he will never be a defensive presence other than a big body.. His max potential is Ilgauskus, which means we will need a defensive PF, possibly Swift..

question about the lakers pick.. If they don't make the playoff's, but they are like 9th place overall, there is still a chance that they wouldn't be in the lottery right? for example couldn't the pick be about 14th or 15th?.. that's not considered lottery is it? In that case we'd probly get Boston's pick..

I agree with that, but the same point can be made about SG's that couldn't be pg's. Look how much Cleveland improved last year after they moved LeBron away from the PG, just think about how many 2 guards could play PG, not many.. Either way, this doesn't matter, I really think that Chill's shot is getting better, and will continue to get better and he will become a much better SG. I am just not sold on Smoove being a PF until it actually happens, he's just not that good a post up player right now. And like I said, if Chill is blowing by his defender, than they will either switch up and put someone quicker on him, or just back off and force him to shoot, it's just common sense.. and for that reason I don't see it a big difference for Chill, because he CAN guard 2 guards, he's actually a very good defender and has good anticipation..

I agree with your point Diesel, but the difference between PG and SG is a LOT bigger than the difference between SG and SF. On our team, most of the time the two wing players pop out for the entry pass, making the 2 and 3 on our team almost interchangeable. Either way, Smoove and Chill are going to pop out together, and the defense is going to choose who guards who. Remember that all SG's don't guard all SG's and all SF's don't guard SF's, teams are going to match up the best way possible, which means if Chill is playing SF and starts blowing by his defender, they will just switch it up and put someone quicker on him.. Chill will become an SG, plus he has actually been shooting well from midrange lately..
