  1. Quote: Charles Barkley stated he didn't like the movie a few weeks ago. Yeah there were 3 main characters but I don't really put Tommy Lee Jones character on the same level as Brolin & Javier. They should have let Tommy Lee Confront Javier back at that hotel but some how Javier escapes. I never said more than 1 main character gets killed off only Brolin and I thought he should have lived at least till the end, and I don't see how the ending with Tommy Lee sitting at the table talking had anything to do with the movie. Too each his own. When TLJ goes into the room and Chigurh is behind the door, that isnt real. That is Tommy thinking/believing that Chigurh is in the room. I loved the movie, but I have one of those problems when I cant get past a former character an actor played. So, I had a great time watching a western featuring TLJ, Bardem, and Bran Walsh.
  2. I always get alot of flack for not liking Ferris Buellers Day Off. I like the idea of the movie but it just doesnt do it for me.
  3. It is painful. About 5 years ago I closed/slammed a door on the end of my middle finger. It hit hard enough tear 3/4 of the nail off and lacerate the fingernail bed. Needless to say the next 15 minutes was alot of blood, deep throbbing pain, and expletives. But what hurt worse was the operating room where they went ahead and completely tore off the fingernail. Then gave me two shots between my knuckles with the biggest needle I have ever seen and then stitched up my fingernail bed with 6 stitches. I had to wear a 4 pronged brace on the finger for a good 5-6 weeks. A very painful experience, but the nail grew back!
  4. Quote: If you haven't seen Capote you definitely have to rent that one. He was incredible in that. He has definitely become one of my favorite actors and he has a lot of range. If you like PSH then you def need to check out Owning Mahowny. It was released about 3/4 years ago (?) and was under the radar. Based on the true story of a Canadian guy who handles large accounts at a bank, and then steals money out of them to support his gambling habit. Also stars Minnie Driver and John Hurt. Excellent movie. Speaking of movies, has anyone here seen The Foot Fist Way???? Ive heard rave reviews about it, and cant find it for sale anywhere. Might end up having to buy it online.
  5. With Chris Andersen being reinstated after his drug ban, do you think he will get any PT tonight? You gotta love the Birdman!!
  6. not sure if this has been posted yet....it can be read in the daily dime. John Hollinger, ESPN.com: OK, so we've heard about Jason Kidd's interest in the Mavs, Cavs, Nuggets and Lakers. But let's turn this on its head -- which team could use Kidd the most? The answer would be a team with wing players who like to run. A team with a glaring hole at the point and, perhaps, one in need of veteran leadership in the locker room. A team with enough scorers that Kidd wouldn't be asked to provide points, and a team close enough to doing something significant that Kidd could make a real difference. So tell me, based on those criteria … how do the Atlanta Hawks not qualify? They have the pieces to make an offer, too, if general manager Billy Knight -- who has a reputation as a reluctant deal-maker -- is so inclined. It would cost them Josh Childress, the expiring contracts of Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright and Anthony Johnson, plus either Zaza Pachulia or Shelden Williams. Atlanta could get Malik Allen back in the deal too (really, Josh Smith, Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams easy buckets in transition that have been frustratingly rare so far this year. And the Hawks only need to rent him for a year and a half (or two and a half if a one-year extension is part of Kidd's ransom), so the risk isn't as big as it seems. It might be fruitful for Kidd, too -- he gets to play the hero again, just like when he came to New Jersey. Of course, it takes two to tango, and the Nets may get better offers than Childress and expiring deals. But it's worth pursuing, isn't it Billy? … Billy? … Hello?
  7. While I dont think Glavine is a number 3 starter, I think he will have a very productive year early on. Being back with bobby, terry, smoltzy, chipper, etc along with our new young guys (francouer, kj, mccann) will "light a fire" under him. He will love throwing to McCann.
  8. agreed. But I'll have to give ESPN a little credit. There coverage of the actual races is getting better.
  9. I hope Petway plays well and makes the team. The pride of Griffin can throw it down!
  10. Three-team deal with Garnett, Stoudemire cools By Chad Ford ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: June 27, 2007, 10:57 PM ET Comment Email Print The Minnesota Timberwolves' attempts to get a great deal for Kevin Garnett hit a major roadblock on Wednesday afternoon, sources told ESPN.com. According to multiple sources, the Timberwolves have been talking to multiple teams about finding a third team to help facilitate a Garnett trade. As ESPN.com reported on Tuesday evening, Minnesota was looking to acquire Atlanta's No. 3 and No. 11 picks in the draft along with several cap-friendly contracts from the Hawks and Phoenix Suns. To participate, Atlanta wanted Amare Stoudemire from Phoenix. On Wednesday, sources say one of the Hawks owners vetoed a hypothetical deal for Stoudemire. The Suns claim to have never had any direct contact with the Hawks about a deal. While they have shown strong interest in acquiring Garnett, the deal never reached a stage where they were asked by either team to give up Stoudemire and never offered him in a trade. While teams like the Lakers and Suns will continue to pursue Garnett, and the Wolves seem intent on trading him, sources say that it's unlikely a deal goes down by the time of the draft. The latest drama in the KG saga shows some of the perils of dealing with the Hawks -- arguably the most dysfunctional franchise in the league. The Hawks ownership group, Atlanta Spirit LLC, is embroiled in a nasty lawsuit with former partner Steve Belkin. Belkin won a lawsuit against Atlanta Spirit LLC last summer and a judge ruled that he could buy out the owners of Atlanta Spirit and gain full ownership of the team. Atlanta Spirit is currently appealing the ruling. In the meantime, Belkin holds some authority over the team. He can veto any trade or free agent signing that takes the team above the NBA salary cap. Several sources suggested that it was Belkin who vetoed the trade. This fiasco isn't the only situation the Hawks are dealing with. Sources said that Hawks general manager Billy Knight is in a dispute with some of the Hawks owners over who to take at No. 3. Knight prefers Florida's Al Horford. Some in the Hawks ownership, including influential owner Michael Gearon Jr., want to draft Yi Jianlian out of China.
  11. The Herd with Colin Cowherd hands down
  12. Troy, you really think that West, at 69, in this time in his life, is the same GM that he was with LA? You really believe that? Smart GMs dont aquire Rudy Gays and trade Shane Battiers. C'mon now...
  13. I thought Wahlberg did the best. I loved his character.
  14. Quote: I'd like to take a poll and see how many NASCAR fans are also fans of Michael Bay movies. Thats ridiculous. Just because you dont like NASCAR doesnt mean people that do like Pearl Harbor. Come on now.

    Tool!

They are also headlining Bonnaroo along with The Police and Widespread Panic.
  16. Quote: Toronto has just blown up, haven't they? Talk about positive influence of the Euro players and the development of Bosh! Dont forget new GM Colangelo
  17. Have you seen all the girls writing on Estebans wall? At least he is good at something.
  18. Quote: I say no, without a coaching change. With a change, even an assistant, I think we win 20. BK had his chance recently to fire Woodson. He didn't. BK must go. The Spirit must go. Belkin is not worse than this. We are a joke. Perhaps I misinterpreted this thread. Did you mean 20 wins before the All Star break???
  19. SICK crossover by joe on kobe to end the half........
  20. BTW, I should also say that I understand Sekou currently has an article about Joe being an Allstar, and the Atlanta Spirit putting out a YouTube video to promote it. Thanks Sekou. I was referring to columnists, not beat writers.
  21. Would it hurt any of you guys to make a case for Joe Johnson being an Allstar in one of your columns??? With all your articles of Michael Vick, the Jackets playing bad, UGA having a bad recruiting season, the Braves lack of payroll etc, don't you think you owe it to your readers and fans of this struggling franchise to post something positive? When our community has something to be proud of like a Joe Johnson ( Our best player since Nique, respectful, class act who is having a spectacular year while being doubled teamed everynight and not having many other options) shouldnt you hoist him up into the spotlight? Give the man some good press. He has most certainly earned it.
  22. Right now Mel Kiper has the Falcons taking LaRon Landry with our first pick. He is a safety out of LSU.
