  1. Hopefully Stern and his statisticians aren't dumb enough to think that David freaking Lee would move the TV ratings needle one bit, but I wouldn't put it past them. I think even Knicks fans would rather see Josh. Smoove and his athleticism could put on quite a show in the all-star game as you said.

    146!

Great game but attendance sure was depressing. It was pretty lonely in my section.
  3. I live in Atlanta 2 miles from Philips Arena and have never had a game blacked out on SS or FSN.
  4. Like Billy Knight, Salim Stoudemire is another guy who remains unemployed.
  5. good idea! i'm sure bosh would love to come play here for the mid-level exception.
  6. If the seats in the 100's I think row AA is basically super premium courtside. You can look up your exact seat location on hawks.com in the 3d virtual tour.
  7. I believe nba.com and nba tv are now run by Turner Broadcasting out of Atlanta, so Sekou, Smitty, and Micah Hart can make this move and gain a national profile, while also staying in town. Definitely a no-brainer. Makes sense that the ATL based guys are all jumping on these opportunities.
  8. You simply do not win championships in the NBA without that lights out player. Detroit did it, but that's the only exception in probably the last 30 years, and I'm not sure you can even call it an exception when you consider they had Billups and Wallace in their primes. I'm not even sure what "low risk and multi-talented" means, but I would describe Chris Paul and Brandon Roy as more low risk and multi-talented than Shelden or Marvin. If it means "not an all-star caliber player" then I guess I understand.
  9. the instant you give sean may any money, he immediately spends it all on food, and then he gets fat, and then he gets injured.
  10. check here as well: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Holeman+%26+Finch http://lmgtfy.com/?q=vortex+atlanta http://lmgtfy.com/?q=earl+atlanta
  11. A friend of mine forwarded me a link about a new burger place his friend is opening that's going to serve fresh ground burgers like holeman and finch. I think it'll open later this summer downtown. I'm interested in checking it out. I like the "grindhouse" play on words. http://www.grindhouseburgers.com
  12. burn. oh well, he probably never brings up the 20 other predictions from that draft he likely whiffed on.
  13. just wondering, but did Chad Ford actually come out before the 2005 draft and say that we should have taken chris paul or deron williams?
  14. It's tough to break this one down. Given the state of the NBA economy, we actually dealt away some chips with some good value (two expiring contracts, one of which is allegedly quite insured). The question is, did we get enough back for those chips, considering that we're now on the hook for Crawford's contract?
  15. Here is another good rundown on reasons this probably won't happen. that thrashers blog links to this. but, you never know, i guess.
  16. I'm not sure what you want from the guy. As others have said, HE HAS A CAST ON HIS HAND. You generally need both hands to play basketball. What is the point of suiting up a guy who can't play? Anyone would rather see Flip and Mo take those minutes, rather than a guy playing with one hand. Sure it'd be inspirational but it would lessen our chances of winning. Do you want to lose just so you can be proud of a guy playing with a cast?

    Game 2

True, but only if the seller of the tickets has electronic tickets. If the seller only has paper tickets then you have to do last minute pickup. In any event, everyone just get your asses down to Philips tonight!

    Game 2

To continue the previous locked thread, stubhub is a reputable ticket dealer. They have a downtown location, but I don't think it's in Philips Arena. It's somewhere on Marietta St. They do charge a ridiculous fee for last minute pickup, though. In my opinion, your best bet is to get some seats directly from the Hawks (through ticketmaster) since there are still seats available. That way, your tickets will be at will-call or you can just print them out at home.
  19. I'm going, but the game isn't sold out, so you can buy some seats on ticketmaster. Gearon was on 790 trying to get people to buy tickets and show up. I'm glad you're coming out!
  20. Pitino probably already makes more as a college coach than Woodson does now. I can't see ASG wanting to pony up the kind of money Pitino will demand.
  21. In case you're like me and often ignore the pinned topics, click HERE to get playoff tickets!!!
  22. Just got the e-mail myself. Click HERE for playoff tickets!!!!
  23. The pre-sale starts at 10:00AM according to ticketmaster.com. Does anyone have any more details on how to get in on the pre-sale?
  24. oh yeah, good catch. i forgot about that. i just looked it up again in coon's cap faq:
  25. that is correct as far as I know (the stepien rule).
