  1. Very sorry to hear. Praying for your family to have comfort.
  2. Ridiculous in that we should have jumped at the trade but management chose not to OR ridiculous that I feel it was good trade?
  3. I will respectfully disagree with this. I appreciate you a lot Soth but I believe the front office screwed this one up by being too cute.
  4. I think he would have bailed us out more as a 3rd scorer and more high volume 3pt shooter. Also the two 1sts would have been great. Plus the less expensive player. Too many good reasons to try and milk more out of the trade. And like you said before, we didn’t take the trade because we could possibly do better. I said it then and will again now that we should have jumped on that.
  5. We should have jumped at that initial trade offer like many suggested here. Our front office and ownership just makes me sad now.
  6. I am afraid anyone who actually does this would be dead from alcohol poisoning by the end of the 3rd quarter.
  7. I need to make one adjustment to my claim about the Pacers. Everyone on the Pacers…except Turner. What a terrible shot at the end of the quarter.
  8. I hate to admit it but I am much preferring watching the Pacers play compared to us. More energy, team likes each other, play fast, and ball is always moving on offense.
  9. I hear you but I would hope we would make hires based on best choice in regards to helping us win rather than optics. Now that hope is just that. I don’t have a lot of faith in our ownership currently. in regard to criticism going to the players, Trae gets plenty of that in the media already
  10. Clint for me. DJM is good but CC is on another level when he is healthy.
  11. That trade is just bad. Reminds me of the old dieselputer from the Aughts.
  12. I don’t believe saying JC is likely the guy talking about Trae is disparaging him. JC is a good teammate in that he plays whatever role is needed. And he is a leader and encourager. But there is indeed history with Trae and JC butting heads. And JC is objectively not playing nearly as well this year.
  13. Oh yeah. CC is a PETA fan. He never wants to finish off a bunny! Nate and JC are very likely the culprits. I have to ride with Trae on this (but I would like for him to chill out with the fussiness and mature faster. I mean you just had a kid. Time to grow up. But I guess >$200mil can get in your head a bit).
  14. Trae is definitely our best player but he needs to be mature and not a diva. The best player needs to be the hardest worker…on both ends of the court. Accountability is much easier when you live it.
  15. Would have also been better if Nate rode with the hot hand in AJ down the stretch.
  16. I agree with all of this except I would add CC to those that are reliable in doing what they are asked to do (even if he is not reliable in his health and availability to play).
  17. This is well put and I agree with just about all of this. My frustration about our team and the way we are run by ownership is also more than I realized after I started typing last night. It is such a bummer to finally have hope (making ECF, and I really think we could have won the whole thing that year if Trae was not injured) and now be right back on the cheap owner treadmill with talent acquisition being secondary. I share your concern that JC May go in a salary dump like Huerter. I understand your concerns about Trae also but the ECF gives me hope Trae can be that guy. I just want him to be less fussy and more well thought out (as I say to my kids) in his interactions with teammates, coaches, other players, and the referees. His lack of maturity this year is disappointing. Probably more so since I root for him and want to root for good humans (and to be fair I am not sure if he is a good person or not but his actions are not currently promising on that front). Nate I agree with. I don’t think he is the guy. We need an offensive coach who is innovative and (much) better buy in on the defensive side (ie. Better effort) and Trae maturing will be a huge part in that. I am also starting to really wonder if DJM is the right guy. The defense is good but the offense is not what I hoped. He (and the whole team) take way too many long 2s. I know a lot is system but I also think it is comfort level for the players (especially DJM and Hunter). Finally, thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate the well thought out discussion and you sharing your thoughts. That is what makes this place so great!
  18. I did say pot or kettle. To be fair I feel that statement was more my opinion that him missing that rebound decreases my (and likely others) belief in him being a great rebounder. Most of my complaining I feel has been about our ownership focusing on money rather than having the best team when making roster decisions.
  19. So who is doing the complaining? Are you the pot or the kettle? JC has not been good this year by objective measures or the eye test. if he is traded I hope we get someone who can shoot which I believe fits our style of play better. Would also be nice to get a few 1sts. ultimately I agree with @Sothron that we need to package some guys (like JC, DJM, etc) for a superior player. Not sure if this is possible but would be my goal. if we can’t package for a superior player then we might as well save some money, get a shooter(s), get some picks, and then “find someone else to complain about”. hey, maybe we can complain about Trae and how he had some turnovers, bought an expensive house, and supposedly wants to be traded?
  20. SMH. This ownership group is starting to be more like ASG with each passing day. Very irritating as I was hopeful after the ECF my whole life of fandom might actually get rewarded with a front office dedicated to winning. But nope, more money grubbing.
  21. JC whiffing that last rebound tonight did not help his case as a great rebounder.
