Wurider05
The talk was that he was more valuable to trade in the off season and now it appears that we may be very limited on what we can get for him.
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 13, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 Nah. Think about it. We trade for Nene. He holds out for 6 year 60 million. He sucks for 5 of the six years. I think BK did the right thing. We got what we wanted in the draft. We got a good PG in free agency. Right now, anything we get for Al will be gravy if you consider that we have somebody good that can play each position for the next 4 years. That's why it makes the most sense to get either a C and an draft pick or 2 good players with short contracts for Al or some type of Asset player. But us crying over not getting Nene or Artest is a waste of tears.
BornandDieHawks
If we didn't wait, BK would have been force to take a deal he probably wouldn't have wanted and bring on some unneccessary salary. Even if it was for an expiring contract, the FA market was weak this year and we still wouldn't have got good value for AL. Now BK is in the driver's seat on any trade and we really have the potential of getting someone who can help this team now.
