Denver wants Al again

I say this is our chance to go after Miller.

Maybe a trade of resigned Al/Lue for Miller/Najera would work.

I love Najera's game and he would be an excellent addition to our bench. It also gives us the point guard that could potentially put us into the playoffs. I say this because Miller is a pass first pg and it allows Speedy to play the role he did for the Hornets.

This trade would allow Al to sign for a first year salary of around 9 - 10 million.

Then we grab Cato for some defence insurance at Center.

Miller/Speedy

JJ/Chill/Salim

Marvin/Najera

Smith/Sheldon/Batista

Zaza/Cato/Edwards

Want to know what Denver will really offer for Al?

Here's the list of choices IMO. Make any combo you like that works under the CBA rules:

Martin

Najera

Kleiza

Patterson

1st round pick (15-25 range)

If Denver wants Al, methinks a third team would be necessary.

For Denver to take on Harrington it just doesn't make any sense.

Martin

Camby

Nene

Melo

Thats already crowded, and they want to add Al? Doesn't make sense unless one of them is gone.

You're right, which is why Martin would have to be traded first. Even so, they would still have major contract commitments to Nene, Harrington, Anthony, Francis, and Camby, even if they traded Miller and Martin.

I think they are a win now mode anyway.

Yes, but they're not in a "win at any costs mode." Taking on Harrington without sending a major contract back would put them over the luxury tax next year.

I can guarantee they won't want to do that unless they have traded Kenyon Martin for a shooter first.

they are...to a degree (primarily because Miller and Camby, esp. the latter) are aging...and they'll have to reload once those two age out.

Also, just for the record...Miller is NOT a pass-first pg. He's a combo guard with very good court vision...but he pulls a lot of one on one's to the hoop/shot

That works for me too but I think Denver wants to acquire Al and they still want to get rid of Martin. We hopfully would not be stupid enough to take on Martin so I see it more on the side of:

Denver receives

AL/Lue/Francis

Atlanta receives

Miller/Najera

NY receives

Martin
