Losing Al a positive or negitive?

I believe that we have our reasons for the work out schedule being what it was.

For instance....

Roy refused to workout for us. Apparently, he had a handshake deal with the Blazers... He canceled two workouts with the Bobcats and one workout with us. Check the record.

Secondly,

It was rumored that we worked out Shelden after Duke played here for the NCAA tourney.

But would it have mattered if we worked out 40 guys and still picked Shelden??

Drop the false delimma, realize you are arguing for the use of a 5th pick to acquire the same type of role player according to you that we got in FAcy for peanuts, and realize your only knock on Roy is he's doing so well he might not do so well for us. La-La-La-LAME!!!

Speaking of "false delimmas"... Walter you are assuming BK drafted SW with the thinking that he would be nothing more than a back up role player. In which case you would be correct in saying we could have picked up one of these in FAgency. The problem is that his thought process was that we would be getting a very good defensive player and rebounder who could also put up points at times. Maybe a 14-12-2 kind of guy. Those numbers including great defense would in fact make SW worthy of a number 5 pick in THIS draft.

Therefore IF SW doesn't become that kind of player, you have every right to be critical of SW's lack of talent to evaluate players. But do not criticize him for drafting a stiff when he could have picked one up via FAgency when he simply didn't view SW as a stiff and why should he. The man was arguably one of the best collegate players last year on a very good team. WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST DEFENDER. Maybe you should actually give the guy a little more time than 3 games before you judge him a stiff.

Dislike BK all you like but to assume he DECIDED to waste a top 5 draft pick on a backup player is flat out wrong.

This has all been said before
but this GM has ruined us by passing on the ROY, trading as a throw in the MIP, and likely passing upon this year's ROY.

Really?? It's news to me. [sarcasim off] BTW that horse has long been gone. Time to move on a deal with what we have which is a winning record at the moment. Why not enjoy it if not till next game?

everybody was on Foye's jock, but now that Foye has bombed thusfar, Brandon Roy would have apparently been the redemption of this team. I appreciate that he has played well, but the assumption that we could fix our defensive problems with the bountiful crop of talented, cheap, and available FA bigs so as to take Roy in the draft is laughable. Furthermore, Roy is no point guard, no matter what you want to delude yourself into thinking. Its like whenever your heavily-lauded 'would have saved the Hawks had he not been traded/ passed in the draft' player isnt doing so hot, these negativity numbnuts move on to the next guy. Hell, a few years ago they proly would say that Hanno Mottola would have saved this team had we kept him. Its just a sad joke really wink.gif
