KB21
.....Glen Robinson's smothering defense he played on Sprewell in the 1st half and Houston in the 2nd half of the game. I wonder why that is?
Guest
Didn't Houston destroy Puppy Dog in the first period? Houston and Spree are the type of players that get hot and cold.Houston wasn't likely to go for 50.He had like a red hot first period then he cooled off.He always does that. Smothering defense?lol you go to be kidding.
KB21
No. Houston was destroying Ira Newble. It wasn't until Glen put the smothering defense on him that Houston got stopped. Glen puts up 27 points, 8 boards, and shuts his man down. Not much more you can ask for.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 19, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 19, 2003 Yeah, Big Og stepped up & we still lost - what a crappy season! Why NY doesn't trade one of those 2 SGs, I'll never understand...
Guest
Houston is the type of player when his shot is on he will score on ANYBODY.But when it's off anyone can stop him.Not to mention Houston is just a jumpshooter. Why don't Puppy Dog stop athletic SF's or atleast contain them?[censored] he got abused by Matt Harpering! Newble shouldn't be on the team anymore.I've been saying all season that is defense isn't what it was last season. He isn't even giving good effort anymore. He hasn't contained anybody since he slowed Kobe down in early November.
