Mutombo became the oldest player in NBA history to record over 20 rebounds in a game, finishing with 22 boards in the Houston Rockets' 108-97 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.

He has been playing amazingly since Yao went down. Well done to a great player and a great guy. The funny thing is that he is rumoured to be much older than 40!

Dikembe is so old that he fought in the independence of Zaire before joining Georgetown University at 35 years old. That's why he is defined as a warrior, he played a key role in his country's independence against the soldiers of Belgium. Then he started a succesfull NBA career at age 38, the oldest rookie ever, with the Denver Nuggets. Now, at 53 (his real age), he is considering playing one more season with the Rockets, but admited that his athleticism is declining.Besides that, he would give the Hawks a great locker room guy, and a veteran presence

I believe that he is 53. He looks it.

I agree that he would be a great pickup to be a backup center for us for next season. I think it is something to consider. We have to pawn Lo off on someone first though.

He is a true warrior with a huge heart and shows it by still being able to bring it. But the most impressive thing that he's done is build the hospital back in his country of origin. A true humanitarian that has used his status to make a difference to a world that we cannot even imagine. For me, that's most ipressive.
