DJ_Money
http://www.nba.com/rookies/rankings.html 1. Al Thornton 2. Al Horford 3. Kevin Durant Horford is also mentioned as having the "Line of the Preseason" for that 22/12/4 performance against Charlotte. Updated every Wednesday, I'd expect that top 3 to stay about the same all season...
Premium Member mrhonline Posted October 24, 2007 Premium Member Report Share Posted October 24, 2007 I'm holding off on annointing Thornton as a steal at this point. While he'll be a good scorer, I'd like to see how he does when teams are keying in on him.
Traceman
right now. I'm sure glad that BK went with Horford and Law instead of Conley/???

Since I'm sitting here watching Detroit on League Pass, and Rodney Stuckey just scored 10 points in 12 minutes of play in the first half, I'm still sort of longing for the Horford/Stuckey combo that I wanted. But Horford/Law is still better than Conley and whoever we would have gotten.
exodus
I think Conley isn't going to be so fond of Memphis. They will probably be trying to showcase Damon for a trade. Not to mention they have Lowry who can play and is a bulldog of a competitor.

vdunkndunk
Just looked at Stuckey's preseason stats . . . his shooting percentage really hasn't been that good, so he's probably hot and cold. I also don't think he's ready to run a team yet, so for the time being Acie Law might serve this team better. Hopefully so.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted October 25, 2007 Premium Member Report Share Posted October 25, 2007 Stuckey has really struggled at the point. He's the perfect combo guard for that team, though.
OGRat
Wow! You really jinxed him. Did you see how Stuckey got hurt? You want to Jinx Thornton for us next?
vdunkndunk
Stuckey also broke his hand tonight. Bummer for him, he looked really good from what I saw in the first half. Too bad, because for me the Acie Law/Rodney Stuckey matchup was a nice subplot for opening night. Still looking forward to seeing Law for the first time in the NBA, though. mudderfudder77
Alright! How about second round pick Aaron Gray being in the top 5.
BossTweed
Quote: Alright! How about second round pick Aaron Gray being in the top 5. I've been keeping an eye on the Bulls, and he has been pretty good for them. He has been effective rebounding and on offense. Apparently he could use some work on his defense. He has trouble with his lateral quickness, but it sounds like he has a good shot to be their backup center, which isn't bad for a 2nd round pick. I'm with you there Doc. Anyone that ever saw Thornton play could never question his ability to score and his fire. It was his defense that will make or break him in the NBA. Thornton was just about as dangerous as any one man wrecking crew I can remember in college. Tons of scorers have questions about defense coming into the league. It doesn't slow down too many of them.
