Guest Walter
First, this trade HAS been accepted at realGM. Big Dawg/Henderson for Artest/Chroshere/Mercer In reply to:"SF Glenn Robinson (20.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.0 apg in 37.5 minutes) PF Alan Henderson (4.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 18.2 minutes) Atlanta receives: PF Austin Croshere (5.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 12.9 minutes) SG Ron Mercer (7.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.6 apg in 23.1 minutes) SF Ron Artest (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 33.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +2.7 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and +2.1 apg. Indiana trades: PF Austin Croshere (5.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 12.9 minutes) SG Ron Mercer (7.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.6 apg in 23.1 minutes) SF Ron Artest (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 33.6 minutes) Indiana receives: SF Glenn Robinson (20.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.0 apg in 69 games) PF Alan Henderson (4.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 82 games) Change in team outlook: -2.7 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and -2.1 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED" Why Atlanta does it? Hog bye-bye. Henderson bye-bye. Mercer's $5-7 million comes off the books after next year. Chroshere has 4 years remaining but provides a BU to SAR. He certainly can do more for us than Isaiah has him do. Artest is perhaps the league's best defender. Head case, yes, but perhaps this team needs that kind of passion. Has 6 years remaining but his salary is TINY! Why Indy does it? Artest went over the top with them under Isaiah. Chroshere is in Isaiah's dog house. Mercer is Mercer. Since Miller is likely gone they need another shooter, this one with a shorter contract than both Artest or Chroshere. A pick could be included either way and should be bargained for by us. Premium Member Diesel Posted May 10, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 10, 2003 Looks good. I'd do it. Surely, having Artest is much better than having Big Dog!
Guest
It all depends on how disgrunted they are with their second straight first round exit. They're primarily a half court team, so that fits Dog's game. It's really a pretty good trade for them, getting a shooter and bu pf like that...but I'm not sure that they're that upset with Artest...if so, then it'd be a major steal for us. I doubt they'd do it...
Guest Walter
but of course, if they don't want to trade Artest, they won't. W
