So far he is averaging around 18 pts a game and shooting about .600 from the field. I know its only 4 games into the season; but considering he has done this against 4 straight playoff teams is even more impressive!
cyman3
after Joe Johnson by the end of the season. Who thinks this is a fair statement? He has a nice jumpshot and a good all-around game. He seems to push the ball up more than others (ex- LUE!!!!) after grabbing rebounds. Childress, i love his game. He always finds ways to get to the ball and score w/o demanding the ball. Marvin will be our #2 option. or atleast, should be our #2 option. Josh Smith is the highlight factory, as always. He'll amaze us with 1 play and shoot an airball 3 pt shot on the next play. coachx
that is hard to say. Marvin, Josh, Chills, Marvin, or Horford could be our 2nd best player. They are all talented candidates. I think it is safe to say Marvin is our 2nd best offensive player. Now overall is a different world. Offense gets the highlights but defense is just as important. Smoove could be 1st or 2nd team all defense by the end of the year. He has publically said that is his goal. I think that is awsome for a 22 year old kid who has loads of potential on offense tobe focused so much on his defense. Horford could be a rare breed of rookie that averages 10 rebounds while playing tough interior defense. Hard to put a price on all that dirty work inside. If I had to put a lable on who our 2nd best player OVER ALL is right now ? I'd be up all night.
HawksFan87
On offense maybe, But Smoove is the total package no other player on this team can do what he does... He's special and so is Marvin. But Smoove is our 2nd best player.

Gray Mule
It doesn't really matter who is best, or second best. On any given night, it could be any one of a number of players - And that's just great!! We ain't got us a star - We got us a team!! Star players, you can stop. Good teams, those that play for the team more than their individual glory, now that's a hard thing to control - even harder to stop! Hawks are @ .500 right now, having met some of the best that the NBA has to offer this season!! Ain't life great now! GO HAWKS!!!!

Of course it came from the wisest member of the Squawk, graymule. I hope the roster can keep that team mentality. Seems the squad has the mental make up to do just that. Marvin, Horford, Law, and Chills all have a history of sacrificing their individual stats for the betterment of the team.
Buzzard
I agree on any given night any of our players can and will step up. But I do like pointing out when one of our players is having a great run vs constantly pointing out only the negative runs that a lot of board members do. Guess I am saying (this is really not a guess), I would much rather chat up the positive play; than post on the negative play. If you don't like my style smirky, act your age and move on....
