How good was NIQUE???

Lets take a break from the DRAFT/FINALS/COACH talk.

1)the BIG QUESTION- how good was nique?

Without a doubt, hes the best player the hawks ever had.

Does he define greatness like BIRD/JORDAN/MAGIC/KAREEM or is a consistant allstar and nothing more? Wheres the FINE LINE between a GREAT PLAYER and an allstar?

The comparison to Vince Carter does seem appropriate (before Carter got injured).

2)After all is said and done, are KOBE/MCGRADY GREAT PLAYERS or just ALLSTARS? If they made a TOP 100 list, wat other players that are playing today can u see making that list?

Tim Duncan?

He did receive back-to-back MVP and if u go check ur history books, only the GREAT PLAYERS were capable of doing that.

3)People say Scottie Pippen doesnt deserve top 50. wats ur opinion of that? did he deserve it?

is that great players get rings and All-stars don't. But that has nothing to do with a player being "great". That has to do with how great the team is. Nique NEVER had a great team, ever. THe one year that he did have a very very good team, he was traded away for junk.

If Nique had won ONE ring, he would be considered a great player. He had the stats of a great player. He always delivered in big games, as other great players do. He just had a weaker team.

Nique was a great player. Almost as good as Jordan and every bit as good as Bird or Magic. He just didn't win the rings and isn't hyped by the league like those guys were and still are. So unfortunately he'll fade from memory until people form their opinions about him by the fact that he had amazing stats but never won a ring. That means he was nothing but a scorer. It's a damned shame too.

If I had a dollar every time the Hawks would play hot potato with the ball until there was five seconds on the shotclock, only to give the ball to 'Nique because they couldn't do anything with it, my student loans would be paid by now. [censored] right, 'Nique was a great player, the best in the history of this sorry franchise. If he had nearly the talent around him as his fellow counterparts that won titles did, he'd had been touted as one of the best in NBA history at his position just like Magic, Jordan, Isiah, and Bird was and still is today. Again, the front office failed miserably in putting pieces around him and therefore, his teams continued to lose in the postseason. And you wonder why this team receives so little respect around the league? Not only can they not draft straight but only they can come up with a reason to trade off their best player in the midst of their best season record-wise for a guy that publicly stated that he didn't want to be here in the first place. And who said that Babs and Kasten didn't have an original thought in their heads.
