scottt
Is his contract a trade asset even if he does not retire? It seems like some team may wish to trade for a contract which will be paid mostly by insurance. Didn't the Hawks trade for a "retired" guy (Terrell Brandon as I recall) just b/c his contract was being paid by insurance and was also expiring? Comments? KB21
I'm not sure how that works, but they may have made a recent rule that says you cannot trade a retiring player's contract. However, if the Hawks could do that, I'm sure a team like Philadelphia or Miami would be interested in taking on a contract that will come off the books after this season. I'd want Dorrell Wright from Miami, and from Philadelphia, I'd want Louis Williams.
leftwich
Trading it to Philadelphia would be a terrible idea with JS being a restricted FA.
