They created Salary Cap Space.

I believe it was a set up. This was the last year of AC's contract. What would have happened if Miami told AC to take an under the table BUYOUT for 3.5 million dollars now. Sign on with Some other team for the 2 million dollar Vet min this year. That's 5.5 million dollars instead of 4.

It's good math and good business. In fact, Pfund could have said, if you don't find another team, we'll take you for the 2 million v.m. after we sign our big FAs.

Genuis.

How could we have done it?

This was an option year for Hendu.

Say what you want about Hendu, we could have had him make the same kind of "mistake" and we could have paid him 10 million under the table NOW. Then he has a chance to get an MCE and make multiple millions for the next few years. Most teams need a good PF or PF BU. We could use some cap relief to sign our own FAs back. Then Next year, CC does the Same?

Aw Well, I guess it only works for Miami.
