Plainview1981
According to NBA spokesman Tim Frank, the clock was started because Hawks forward Al Horford tipped the ball after the pass was made by Delfino. But several sources close to the team said that there was no mention of the ball being tipped as the call was being argued on the court. There were also doubts about the amount of time on the clock when Ford caught the ball, if it was indeed tipped. http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...Basketball/home

WraithSentinel
The reason no one mention the tip right after the play or game is because everyone was caught up in the moment. Refs trying to determine if the basket counted or not. Horford himself even stated he didn't think about the tip until the next morning.

LOL_Hawks
I've already moved on, especially since there's a pretty big game tonight. The only people still whining about this are either Raps fans or closet Raps fans.

I love Al, but he should have been adamant about having tipped the ball. That would have changed the whole focus of the conversation and we would not have been ripped by the media. You have rules for a reason, no matter how insignificant they might seem. When breaking down plays like this, you have to look at all angles. Reality gets in the way of most people's angle, though. Why can't people just be honest? At least to themselves. The tip was obvious.
