Guest
When I look at teams like Boston/Orlando I say why can't we fight for the playoffs right along with them if we sign Jumaine Jones/Glover and add good depth overall. Lets say we resign Glover and bring in Jones and Maybe Gary Trent. JT/Dickau Glover/Jones/Hansen Diaw/Jones/CC SAR/Hendu/Trent Theo/Nazr boston has: Banks/Delk PP/McCarty Williams/ Walker/Baker Battie I know i'm missing a few scrubs...but are they more talented than us??? This is enough to offer alittle bit of hope...Although we need to find away to stockpile some good young talent.
Admin
Did that post and a couple of others that I have read from you today sound optimistic and hopeful about the Hawks instead of just doom and gloom? This is a miracle breakthrough. Regarding your post, I happen to agree with you. I think that if the Hawks get a legit SG or SF in here and some nice veteran additions to the bench that we will be doing just fine. If we can get a good SG then we put Diaw at SF and if we get a good SF then we put Diaw at PG and JT at SG.
Gray Mule
Diaw at Guard. Jason Terry at Guard. Why is it necessary to name one the shooting guard and the other the Point Guard? I know, the point is supposed to set up all the plays, like the Quarterback in football. Can't the plays be desined so that they can be run from either guard position? Of course not, Gray Mule. How silly. Really? I hadn't noticed. Try it, you might like it. And when they go on defense? In "Man to man" you get whichever player you are supposed to be covering. Necessity is the mother of invention. Hawks may have to "Invent" a new way of doing things. Try things. If they don't work, try something else. Who says we have to do it just like everyone else does it???
Lascar78
exactly. The bottom line is, JT will guard opponents' PGs and Diaw will be our primary passer. I would say that that makes JT our PG but labels don't really matter Diaw will probably take whoever's better out of the opponents' SG and SF. I think we will be a very versatile team if we can pick up the right players
Guest
I think that much of it has to do with who is going to be bringing the ball up the court most of the time? Who's going to have the ball in their hands at the early parts of the shot clock...that's what I mean by sg and pg...not so much designated roles, but on the court assignments... which is why I think Diaw ought to be used to bolster perimeter defense most of the time, doing this from the three spot (depends some on who the other team has for a three...) Guest
Well, when I look at Bostons roster and they still make the playoffs it's possible....Not to mention the east has gotten even weaker.
