Now that Chill is gone. How much room do we have?

Also, do anyone think there will be talks this offseason or maybe next off-season from the owners on how to keep our players from leaving the NBA because Chill is just the beginning. Looks like David Stern's plan to get fans from across seas to like Basketball is backfiring. Now they are putting the NBA fan money back into their country's pocket. LOL

Does Childress' cap hold remain on the books for the Hawks (assuming they do not renounce his rights)? If so, for how long?

Assuming they do not renounce Childress, the caphold will always be there.

Outside of SnT can we move childress still or is that impossible...?

Heck id take a $4m cap exception or so for him now if its possible to remove his cap hold and pick up another FA outside of using the MLE

Who would wants him now, he signed a huge deal in Europe and our rights only last two years with him.

There isn't anything of Childress to move. We cannot trade his Bird Rights or our ROFR, so there is nothing left. We could do a SnT if Childress wants to come back to the NBA but that is it.

His caphold would only affect us if renouncing it would bring us below the Cap, but it doesn't so there isn't anything to worry about with that.

I was just looking at our salaries...we have a combined 51 million without the QO's of the Joshes. Including both, puts us above the salary cap of 58 million. Renouncing Chillz would appear to take us about 4 mil below...Where is everyone getting these "over the salary cap" numbers from?

Like we have said numerous times, you do not take the Qualifying Offer for our salary cap. The Joshes have capholds which are equal to 300% of their previous salary. So Chill has a caphold of roughly $11 million and Smoove has one around $7-8 million, I forget the exact numbers but it puts us over the cap.

So, Renouncing Chillz would put us where around the cap, under right? how much?
