Admin
http://www.nypost.com/seven/10032008/sport...08.htm?rss=true Locked-out Pacers point Jamaal Tinsley was traded to the Nuggets for Chuckie Atkins and Stephen Hunter, The Post has learned. The deal is contingent on Tinsley passing a physical. Chronically injured over the last four years (only once playing more than 42 games) and embroiled in violent encounters on three separate occasions (none of which he instigated), he spent all summer in Atlanta rehabbing his body and is said to be a great condition. Denver assumes his $21M, 3-year debt. Atkins is due $3.24M and $3.48M while Hunter is guaranteed $3.86M and $3.69M. Less than half of their total salary remaining is guaranteed. dlpin
the nuggets could run an ad like: " do you have problems with the law? are you constantly injured? having problems staying in shape? Do you think that the NBA is JUST like playground streetball? Then dont waste another second and run, dont walk, to sign with the denver nuggets"

I'd say the Cincinnati Bengals could run the same campaign.
Admin capstone21 Posted October 3, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted October 3, 2008 Good stuff! I'd say the Cincinnati Bengals could run the same campaign. and the former jail blazers. The Nuggets were in bad bad need of a pass first pg. Tinsley is definitely that. He can run the offense very well...a lot better then Atkins or Iverson. However, He is way overpaid and he is more trouble then he is worth and it proves how desperate Denver is for a pg by making this deal. If he is healthy it does make the Nuggets better. At the same time the Pacers add yet another center to their roster. Maybe we can pry one of them away from them.
dlpin
This denver is worse than those, though. Yeah, the Jail Blazers had more problems with the law. But for the most part they were healthy, and a few of them wanted to play most of the time. Denver you have a team that most key players have had significant injuries (last year they did well because most were able to play more than 70 games, but other than that, AI has only played more than 70 games in 2 of the past 4 seasons, Melo 3 of 4, Nene 0 of 4, Martin one of 4, now they have Tinsley, 1 of 4), problems with the law (all of them except Nene), the only guy who played defense was traded, and all of them have a lousy work ethic (except Nene again). This is a team that might lead the league in games missed due to injury, points allowed, and court appearances in the same season.

AI has a lousy work ethic? wow. martin and anthony ain't the hardest workers but they ain't lazy. karl is a great coach, for the regular season, they should fine if nene and martin can play most of the games. dlpin
AI works as hard as any that have played. You are confusing on court dedication and heart with off court work ethic. If missing so many practices that you clash publicly with 2 of your headcoaches is not a poor work ethic, I dont know what is. If showing up late for games and practices, refusing to play of the bench, is not poor work ethic, I dont know what is. Does it show great dedication that he plays hard on the court and is not afraid of getting injured? yes. But too often people confuse that with work ethic. TruJerz
Tinsely may be overpaid but he is a starting PG in this league still(if healthy)..he will make them a slightly better team. but Denver is in need of bigs..KMart and Nene aint gonna cut it
