Morris can't handle Kong in the paint. I seen twice where Kong scored over Morris inside the paint. On the other hand Morris did his scoring on Kong with jumpers

After he gets more work he would be very nice in our slow offense.

He is hell on the pickNroll

yeah Siler looks pretty nice. Korolev (or however you spell his name) looks like a pretty good shooter, so does Akyol. Would be nice to have a specialist like that on the bench.

Day 3 Blog

I like what I see from Cenk Akyol.

Kong Siler is still taking over the paint

Did team White win most of the games? I wonder did they take scores of the players.

You are comparing Siler agianst the Morris and a bunch of other nobody's. Come on. Siler looks slow to me, even against Morris, and the other stiffs.

he doesnt look any slower than anyone else his size in the league (shaquille)...we just need someone who can come in and play hard with that size to keep the big folk out of the lane.

Sounds like the logic when we signed Randolf Morris.

Korolev was very impressive to me.

yeah, i like him too. don't know about his defense....but if you play the 3rd video out, the fourth scrimmage comes up and he does a nice inbounds to himself for a score off one player not paying attention. nice.

I really like what I saw from a few guys. Teague looked like he was on another level than the other guys out there, Siler and Ellis both looked very solid in the paint, and Korolev was money on his 3's. I would like to see 1, maybe 2 of those other 3 guys make the team this year and I'd go ahead and buy Morris out since he looks as soft this year as he did last year and I'd rather have Siler or Ellis take that spot.

From what I've seen, I think were going to like what we see from Jeff Teague. Korolev really impressed me. The guy has a real quick release and seems to be a solid player. Siler is alot bigger than Randolph and seems to have a better post game but he doesn't seem to be that great of a defender though it is just very small sample so I can't really judge that nor his rebounding but the guy is huge and seems to have alot more intensity than Randolph.

glad out of all those players, we've got jeff'tea signed. randolph didn't seem excessively soft to me, but all his highlights were jumpers. would've liked to see him taking it to the rim with siler in there. maybe he just couldn't get it done? pulling siler away from the basket and shooting over him definately seems to be how you play him, so i can't fault morris for doing it repeatedly, i just would've liked to have seen him at least try to go up against him physically. we need someone in the paint, not 1-5 all looking for jump shots. siler definately knows where his bread and butter is, right at the basket, which is right where you want a guy like him to be, not pulled out shooting 10' out. looking at his summer league #'s, it looks like he's good at the charity stripe, too (for a wall). muy beuno. again, i like him and think he could contribute 5-10 minutes a game, maybe more in a few years. morris has shown how to exploit him, but he would be great to put out there against shaq and other bruisers that clog the lane and bulldoze for buckets.

it is really difficult to put too much judgement on these little clips, though. they showed no defesive highlights (if there were any), and all those korolev 3's looked good, but we didn't get to see any of his misses for comparison's sake.

was it just me, or was othello getting off some ugly shots? i kept reading posts from sekou, etc. saying how much he's improved, blagh, blagh, blagh, but most if not all those "highlights" of his were U-G-L-Y. arms and legs going everywhere. it looked like it was as much of luck as anything as to why they made it in.

Already having Nba withdrawals sucked up the minicamp highlights like a junkie anyway... Teague looks like what we needed a quick athletic pg who can penetrate at will and showed better passing skills and desire to pass than I was expecting( hopefully not a liability on defense). Siler sounds like he would fill need for size and toughness at center and cheaply but beating up on Randolph Morris isn't exactly all that impressive. He does seem coachable and intelligent just hope he isn't just a heavy bag for practice and maybe he gets signed for something more than just keeping the bench from flying up when the other players go into the game.

Agreed....I am sold on Teague! He is playing on a whole different level...Siler, Ellis, and Korolev look good also

Replying to the original question.. I think Blue won 3 of the 4, but it could have easily been 2 of 4. As far as the twitter updates were concerned it sounded as if the starting lineup on the blue team was by far the best.. (I'd have to go back to some Twitter archives to see who the other 4 were, I believe one of those was Othello). I can only really go off what Sekou and Micah were saying because they were the ones that saw everything.. I guess that Chris Ellis had some good spurts. Korolev can shoot the rock, but so can Huertas, so he might get another look. As was mentioned on a previous post, there isn't a great deal to take from this week, it's just something for us junkies to fodder about as we still have a few months till the season begins, with the exception of Teague, Morris and Hunter, I'm sure we might take 1, or very unlikely 2, and maybe try and get 2-3 additional players for the D-League squad, but who knows. It sounds like the coaching staff has some decisions to make.

I pretty much confer with everyone else's comments, but I'd like to add that Sundiata looked really good in the 2nd highlight. He's the gritty guy that you like as your 12th man. Someone that comes in and instantly mixes it up with their intensity/defense/energy. Mario West with an offensive game if you will. I'd like to see him and Mario both in the game with 1 min till the end of the half.

Man, I was just watching those videos again and you are right. WE NEED TO BUY MORRIS OUT! In the paint the other big guys were scoring over him at ease. LOL

Earl Barron and Garret 'Kong' Siler. Let me go back to see if I can find more. lol
