Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted May 25, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted May 25, 2010 If I'm going to suck for the better part of four decades, I'd at least have tried to look good doing it. What is with with the lack of creativity for this franchise? The Clippers were one of a handful of franchises that declared a "logo change" for next season, during the NBA Draft lottery. The result? No change to the colors. Red. White. Blue. At least the Hawks jazz up with a little silver. Somehow this color arrangement survived the whole Crips-Bloods thing. No change to the "You're not fooling anybody" rip-off of the Laker logo design. No resolution of the logo and "LA C" lettering with the cursive designs on the unis and floor. Nothing that someone would look at and think, "Oh, yeah... L.A.!" Really, all in all, no changes to the Clippers' look since this guy was leading the charge. The only meaningful change to the logo was the rotation of the basketball. Somebody spent money just to do that. And why the "Clippers" still? What are people still hanging onto, exactly, with that team name after being the butt of jokes for two generations? The tie-in to San Diego made all kinds of sense when they were there. L.A.? Eh, not so much. Why wait until it's too late (e.g., the Lakers)? In a town with (probably) many of the best graphic designers and branding specialists on the planet, can't Sterling take one year and just CTRL+ALT+DEL the whole "Clippers" concept? I have no graphic design sensibilities, but apparently neither does Sterling, to hear other designers tell it. What ideas would you have for the Clips? (no, "fold" is not an option) Clipper fans recently discussed the style makeover, to no avail. ~lw3

Dnice
A new look might rub off on them, of course they need the unit to stay healthy, but at least change the font or something. Edited May 28, 2010 by Dnice
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted May 28, 2010 Author Moderators Report Share Posted May 28, 2010 The Clippers fans (all 75 of them) march in the streets demanding LeBron. As if their owner will pay for anything. Don't they realize LBJ won't associate himself with their wretched history by wearing those unis? At least the Cavs had enough sense to revise their logos and unis after drafting him. ~lw3
