DJlaysitup
OK so maybe Sund didn't draft Craw Jr to be Craw Sr's replacement once JJ left as an unrestricted F/A. Maybe Sund figured out that if Craw Jr shows out early that he can play and become Craw Sr's equivallent (or close) - Craw Sr is a player who could put another team over the top and also be an expiring contract that could get us a good quality big? Hmmmmmmmm - strategery As I've said on previous posts - Craw (Sr) is our ace in the hole. (as long as we don't wait too long to play him) Edited July 1, 2010 by DJlaysitup
GameTime
I hope Sund doesn't just sit around and sign minimum vets.

GT - what if we sit around with our current team (having JJ) and then trade for a big at trading time with Craw (as long as Craw Jr is OK)

Not only to make us better but also, to keep Horf somewhat happy.

They found a player they liked, the made a deft manuever to get him and $3M cash. Actually, if they were so in love with Craw Jr., they would have just drafted him at 24. They were also mentally prepared to lose him - which means they had someone else rating just about as high. Remember, he's the #27 pick. Chances are much better he'll be out of the league in 3 years than ever make an impact.
spotatl
yall fogot about the chilldress rumors we might get Mcgee 7 footer lots of blocks There was no rumor that the Hawks might get McGee for Childress. There was a rumor that the Wizards might sign Childress and see if the Hawks would match- the Hawks wouldn't get anything in the deal. McGee only came up because people here were talking about how great it would be to get McGee in a trade but its just a wish. No one thinks the hawks will match a contract for Childress- if you are the wizards why would you consider a S&T when you can just sign the player for free?
