Sekou and Jon Barry talking Hawks

Hawks don't need value in return. The goal should be to dump JJ at any cost. Expiring contracts and draft picks would do just fine.

I could see the Mavs, Trailblazers, or Knicks being dumb enough to take him.

Only the Mavs have the contracts and they aren't expiring in Haywood and the Blazers only have what's left in Roy but no rush considering they have Matthews, Rudy, their rook Elliot, GWall and Batum manning the wings. They rather eat the smaller and most likely to be insurance paid (not that it matters with their owner) Roy than bother trading for Joe.

We were stupid enough to resign him, they are no teams on the horizon dumb enough or with the assets to acquire him. Maybe Khan in a few years....if he's still employed.

Rebuilding teams have even less use for overpaid veterans, they require young building blocks on cheap contracts instead.

Only hope at moving JJ is to a contender on their way up or trying to stave off their fall down and they won't give up value in return outside of their excess players.

Rebuilding teams desperate for relevancy (ie Cleveland) might be desperate enough to do something to get someone to start building WITH (not around). The Hawks did this when they acquired JJ although they were doing it more to build around him. That was the mistake IMO. Despite his play of late, he is a valuable player (if used properly) and could help either a contender or a team with good young talent looking for a vet. Hopefully, they'll realize JJ isn't the vet "leader" type.

If they want Vets then they can just pick up Jason Collins at 1.5 for a year and not 5 years of Joe Johnson at 100 million. They have two lottery picks in this draft alone not to mention in the upcoming ones seeing as Joe will not push them anywhere on his own. It would be ridiculous to have to jettison some of their youth in a few years because they can't afford them with 20 million on the payroll going to a player that has no place in their future. If Joe could barely make us relevant as 24 year old coming to a 13 win team how in the world will he do that as a higher paid and much older player in Cleveland?

Look no further than how the Clippers got rid of Baron Davis after the emergence of Griffin and Washington got rid off Arenas after they got Wall and before that Jamison and Butler to realize that rebuilding teams absolutely abhor overpaid vets that don't contribute to their future.

Al is untouchable. He is a hugely talented team player who is still approaching his prime.

Josh, on the other hand, can't be sent out fast enough.

I dont see how Al could be untouchable. He is a good player but he is yet another jump shooting big man with no low post IMO.
