It pains me to read this. Walter Payton was my football hero growing up..........my favorite NFL player by a mile. To me, the only other childhood sporting figures who came close were Dale Murphy and Dominque Wilkens. Sad to read how sad and depressed Payton was in retirement.

Things like this should really make us reflect and appreciate how good we have it. No matter how happy you think a person appears to be when looking in from the outside you never really know what is really going on.
