UGA self reported secondary violations but their will be no additional penalites by the NCAA.......just the loss of a few recruiting days.

The athletic dept., under Damon Evans, declined to give raises to several position coaches and declined bowl bonues to all football staff, who were not coaches, for 2009 and 2010. (Of course many salaries were frozen in state government systems due to lower state tax revenue). March Richt felt he could do right and took $60,000 out of his own pocket to give his staff that compensation which Evans had previously declined for 11 months through parts of 2009-10. This also could shead some light on the relationship between former AD (Damon " Red Panties" Evans) and March Richt.

One thing about CMR...........he genuinally cares about people and I think parents and recruits will see that even more now and will trust a man like that with their child. After all.... actions speak louder then any words. Mean while you have Auburn preaching the "family" thing but their offensive coordinator just left to take a $400,000 pay cut and their defensive coordinator left for lesser job at Central Florida rather then be fired. You see what happens in Auburn when things get tough on their coaches (Gene Chizick is rumored to be hell to work with) ............and you see how CMR reacts when things get tough in how he treats his coaches and staff.

List of secondary violations:

1 Crowell lining up with UGA's offensive line in stadium during recruiting visit.

2. Kicking recruit faking a kick (without a football) in stadium.

3. CMR paying bonuses out of his personal checking account to coaches and staff after those bonuses were rejected by AD Damon Evans.

4. Giving a 5 year old brother of a recruit a free lunch during a visit......which was later paid back by the parents.

5. Todd Grantham spoke to a recruit too long while walking down a hall when visiting his coach at a highschool..........something Nick Saban admits to doing all the time.

6. 1 recruit spent 1 night off campus which during a visit which is not allowed..........he was told to stay on campus with a student athlete but decided, at the spur of the moment that night, that he wanted to stay off campus with another student athlete......a girl one might assume.

Well that is through the eyes of a UGA homer......but the important thing is the NCAA agreed that no real punishment was needed for violations such as these.
