Dumars made a mistake.The Pistons should be the poster team for tanking. Have not had a winning season since 2007, what's one more year? They would have gotten a top three pick probably and had money to spend next year in a better FA market and on a better FA than Josh Smith. Instead, they will hover around the 8th seed and are stuck with Josh.

If they get to the 8th seed. Dumars is like the person that has to spend their money as soon as they get it. He did it when he paid Charlie V and Gordon all that money; and he has done it again with Josh.

I know GM's have to spend up to a certain point, they are not restricted to how long a contract has to be. Which is one of the things I think most posters are missing with Ferry.

6 million for four years does not break the bank for any team and is easily moved.

14 million on the other hand better fill a teams dire #1 or #2 priority need or you want find any takers.

If everything was done on paper, George Hill and Thabo Sefolosha would both be headed to the HOF. And if everything was based on upside so would Kwame Brown and Greg Oden, And if everything was based on NBA 2K12 Josh would have been inducted his second year.

I don't think that Piston team gels together; but maybe they do.

Ah, the Josh apologists are just as envious of Detroit as the Joe apologists are of Brooklyn. So what if they are better than the Hawks NEXT YEAR, how much better though? Better yet, will they make it further in the playoffs than the Hawks did in their peak? If not then who cares, there aren't regular season titles being handed out and just like Joe in Brooklyn, Detroit's success will be minimally dependent on Josh but rather on the development of Knight, Monroe and Drummond. Those guys don't pan out then there is nothing Josh's "impact" can do to save that team.

I stopped listening when he said Detroit had passionate fans.... Lol And then he started talking about the media all being there.... This dude is a clown and always has been. Couldn't be happier that his butt will be playing for the Pistons this season, regardless of where they finish in the standings.
