R.J. Hunter going Pro

Probably not a good thing for Ga. State Basketball fans...but I had to watch some youtubes of him since he is likely a late 1st round pick - maybe late mid 1st round.

The kid is actually somewhat stunning - shoots like Downtown Freddie Brown - exceptional range - he will have no problems with the difference between pro and college 3-pointers.

6 foot five - rangy (meaning long arms) - not exactly a tough guy - but he seems to play fairly well inside. Good defensive instincts...steals balls. (he's no DMC at this stage by any means).

Basically he is a "skill player"...better than most of the guys he will ever go up against in the NBA. Has a wrap for not being quick enough to stay on his man defensively - but he's never had a center to challenge in the paint to back him up.

...and by the way - he can shoot....big-time...he should have Korver-esque/Reggie Miller type shooting skills once adapted to the NBA.

If we get the NJNets pick I would take him on skills alone and hope.

Beats taking some 7-3 dude out of some island.

Nobody can question whether or not he has the cahoonas to take the big shot thtas for sure. He basically took the 1ast couple minutes of that Baylor game and turned them into his private draft workout. He played that game out like he was dreaming it.The question will be if he can get his own shot off or not. It seems like he should be able to.
