When we draft, someone must go away.

Right now the Hawks have a full roster.  Since his contract expires at the end of

the season and he doesn't play a lot, JJ is the logical choice to move.

 

If that happens, Walter Tavares will probably take his place.  Hawks have the

option of swapping with the Nets but the Nets are trying hard to stay out of

the lottery and may end up as our 1st round opponent.

 

Our draft pick may not be as grand as we first thought as the Nets keep winning.

How much better will our draft pick be than the players we currently have?  There

is always the hope that we will grab that sleeper that turns into an all star.  Knowing

how our 1st round draft picks have worked out, maybe not so great.

 

So, who goes and why??

3 players that most likely won't be suiting up for us is Brand, Jenkins, and Daye.

We draft a SG/SF to replace JJ or Daye.

One of JJ and Daye will not be back, maybe our 2nd rounder from last year, Patterson joins the squad.

We'll have numerous changes this offseason, not just one guy. Remember, we went into the season with only 14 on the roster. These 10-day guys likely won't be back and Brand will retire. And there is always the possibility that Millsap and DMC get offered lucrative deals with other teams and jump ship. I'd be surprised if Jenkins wasn't retained. He's at least worth the 14th spot.

We had 15 on the roster to start the season with Payne, Daye is now signed to that spot, so still at 15.
