The Biggest Steal in the 2nd Round This Yr Is

I don't want anybody who'll be competing for a roster spot in 2015-16, but instead another "Lamar Patterson" type or two that we can stash away overseas... or in Columbus/Augusta/Savannah (Ressler)... and make them central to our player development plans.

I like mega-scorers and mega-rebounders from non-major programs (like Millsap) that need some more skill seasoning, so Tyler Harvey (E. Washington) and Alan Williams (UCSB) are right up my alley as far as what I'd look for. I'm hardly familiar with the second-tier internationals, though bigs with a passing propensity, like Serbia's Nikola Milutinov, will catch my attention.

I would like Willy Hernangómez. I think that if we draft him in the second round, then his trade value will rise up once he plays in Real Madrid next season. He could also contribute here in a future...

He could become one ot he best players in the Spanish League. That always give you a lot of value.

Marc Gasol wasn't going to be that special.. but in just one season he made an incredible progression and the Lakers could trade him for an All-NBA in Pau Gasol.

JC Navarro was selected in the second round... and a few years after the Wizards traded him for a first round pick from the Grizzlies.

Those two cases are very extreme, because they are also two of the three best spanish players ever, but I think it's worth the risk.

I agree find some big men projects. Hernangomez looks like he would be worth the wait and I like Alan Williams.

Like Green, he has to get in much better shape in the NBA but I don't see him as the same player. Finding steals in the 2nd round is extremely hard. Us getting Edy was probably our best 2nd round pick ever. Not saying our standards are high but his talent level is very high compared to 99.9% of our norm.
