HawkItus
Would Teague not guarantee to re-up? Did Quin not want Teague(which says a lot)? Did Bud promise Teague a winning team on the East coast? Both are 8 mill guys next year. Both expiring. Hmmm. In the Teague trade thread it says that Indy is working on Teague extension, maybe he wasn't willing to signe extension with Utah. 2. The Hawks may have wanted more from Utah than just 12 for Teague (another young player that was reported at trade deadline)
Dejay
Option 1, Jay. He likely refused to sign an extension with the Jazz, so...
High5
Hill is a more veteran player and a better defender. He probably fits what Utah wants more. They have young guards they like for the future.

coachx
Indy likes their chances of resigning Teague to play in his hometown. Utah didn't. From that angle it makes sense. Edited June 23, 2016 by coachx
Buzzard
I like the thought that Teague will resign with Indy is why it went down like this. Hill going to Utah for 12 is a bit of a schocker. But there is no such thing as a guaranteed starter with the 12th pick. Hill is a guaranteed starter for them. Everyone thinks they know a draft pick is a lock until the player picked proves you totally wrong. I would bet the hits vs misses at 12 over the past decade or more are in the coin toss range.
