Dragitoff
Atlanta receives: 2018 Memphis 1st round pick, Chandler Parsons, Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert Memphis receives: 2018 T'Wolves 1st round pick (via ATL), 2019 Hawks 1st round pick (top 10 protected), 2018 Hawks 2nd round pick, 2018 Cleveland 1st round pick, Tristan Thompson, Ersan Ilyasova, Marco Belinelli, Cedi Osman Cleveland receives: 2018 Rockets 1st round pick (via ATL), Mark Gasol, Kent Bazemore, Dewayne Dedmon Why Atlanta does it: Taking on Parson's deal isn't ideal, but it does net Atlanta another top 10 pick in a loaded draft. Along with their pick, they could realistically land 2 of Ayton, Bamba, Porter, Doncic, Bagley, Young, etc. Why Memphis does it: getting out of Parson's deal is a good motivator but stockpiling massive amounts of picks in the next 2 drafts make it even sweeter, even if moving Gasol is one of the components to make it happen. They would essentially be choosing quantity over quality (possibly) by sacrificing a potential top 5 pick for multiple 1st (most likely late 1st round) Why Cleveland does it: the talent obtained give them a greater chance to be a contender. Gasol gives them a defensive stretch-5 that fits their lineup. Bazemore and Dedmon give them more defensive depth. Their rotation becomes pretty dang scary. DS5
This is a terrible trade for Hawks and Grizzlies. Only benefits the Cavs and they don't even have to give up their Brooklyn pick?
