First thing to note is that if we go uptempo, we have no need to trade JT. He's an uptempo guard... kinda.

First Pick.... #6. Josh Smith. If not Josh, then JR Smith.

The Atlanta Hawks annouce a trade......

Diaw/#17 to Memphis for Stromile Swift.

Second round: Sato, Chalmers, Ariza.

Resign: Jax, Sura, Pryz....

FA pickups: Foyle, Knight, Martin (Max)....

I believe we can add a much better talent with the 17th pick then Swift brings.

Swift doesn't do much for more, and I would hate to see as the Hawks longterm power forward.

Well,

If you look at Swift, he's Jermaine Oneal waiting to happen. He's definitely a great rebounder. He's also a good scorer and can run the floor. It's hard to find a big man with those attributes. What does Diaw bring that we can't get from Sura... Actually, I think Sura makes Diaw expendable... Especially if we play uptempo. I understand that Diaw has a fan club, but Diaw HAS NOT been that good in an uptempo game. He's better suited for the Halfcourt set where his passing ability makes him look good... However, in the uptempo game, he's shaky.

Secondly... The 17th pick won't get us a PF that is better than Swift. Also, Swift has the ability to play C. I really don't know if it would still be neccessary to get Kmart if we have Swift? Not to say that they are comparable right now, they are two different players... In fact, I think Kmart should give part of his salary to Kidd for making him look good. However, I do think that if we pass on Kmart... when FAcy hit next season, we would be in a perfect position to get some new faces...
