Plainview1981
2.4YPC as always with him. Hope Dallas likes seeing him getting hit in the backfield every other play. They would be best to only use him on close goaline plays because that is about as productive as he will be. Chris Brown had 46 yards on only 6 carries. Eddie George totalled 72 yards on 32 carries all of last years preseason.
CBAreject
Why does Eddie George get to be a professional football player? Is he really better than Hambrick? Is he better than Ken Oxendine?
Plainview1981
In his prime he only got 3.7 yards per carry. Alot of people say he carried the Titans in the late 90's... But it was more of the Titans defense than anything. Always seemed to be more hype than anything. Sure he has a high number of total rushing yards over his career. But look at the number of carries he has for his career.
Weez
I agree with how he is now...a big piece of crap. But don't take away from what he did before the surgeries, the injuries...before age. he lost his mobility...and effectiveness. He was a very good back...but how many of them last after the number of carries that he's had? that's one thing I never quite understand about your posts sometimes...you get mad at people for getting older, for not having the abilities that they used to have...and it's just the way it is. He's taken a beating, and it's showing now...but he was a VERY VERY good back...
Plainview1981
Well, I never really liked him. Seems like he didn't produce a big game without 30 carries. I really got angry because he seem to play scared of Ray Lewis at times. I know Ray Lewis is great and is mean.... But I lost respect for Eddie when he showed fear. Mostly, he still seems to think he is really good back when it's clear to most people that he is not. He can bully in for two yard touchdowns and provide some experience to the Cowboys young backs. But he could have taken the pay cut and stayed here. Actually he signed with Dallas for the samething he would have made here in Tenn. The fans loved him in Tenn and backed him when he was doing NOTHING at all. I never liked him but most in Tenn did.
Sage11
i have always enjoyed eddie's running. I think he is a good fit for Dallas. Yes he is old but I think for a year what do they have to lose. The tuna will get who he wants for the backfield eventually. I agree that Eddie should have stayed put. Look at what Dallas did with E. Smith, all time leading rusher; if Eddie does not produce, he is gone. Believe it.
