Diesel's Top 10 Front Offices!

1. Kings. No doubt. The Kings front office has done some of the best movements in a string. They started by getting Webber/Vlade. Then they draft Peja, Turk. Trade for Christie, Bibby, Jackson. Now they got Clark....

2. Orlando. A few yrs ago, they started over. Now to their credit they have: Tmac, Miller, Hill, and May Snag Duncan because they have so much money under the cap.

3. Washington. Don't laugh. Since Jordan took over, they manage to get rid of the huge salaries of Strickland, Howard, and Richmond. ANd they have stockpiled young talent: Halmilton, Brown, Heywood, Jeffries, etc. Many laugh at Brown, but he's out of HS. His rookie yr was better than KGs. He has the potential to be better than even Webber.

4. Atlanta. OF Recent.. We have gotten SAR, Big Dog, and Theo in trade. We also retooled with JT, Dj, DIon. Still mared by bad drafts of Cal and the bad contracts of CC, Hendu. We don't look so bad.

5. Lakers (Jerry West). I really can't credit the Lakers of today for the work that Jerry West did by going after Kobe and Shaq. West put together the best Laker team ever.

6. Memphis (Billy Knight). Again, not to slight West and Company, but Knight put together Gasol, Battier, Lo, Williams, Swift. That team alone will be pretty good. West has a lot to work with from Knights regime. I'm glad we have Knight!!

7. Dallas. With some good moves like Dirk. And some bad moves like Wang. Or some good moves like Finley and some bad moves like Howard. and good moves like NVE, Lafrentz. Dallas could easily be #2 if they make a few good moves like getting Lewis without giving up Lafrentz.

8. Toronto. You have to be impressed with the good drafts Gruenwald have put together. Mo Pete, Jeffries, Carter, then the pickups like Williams, JYD. They have had their bad contracts like Hakeem, and AD. However, as next season roll in, they may have enough to go after a C?

9. New Orleans. NOt that they have made good drafts or good trades but they have put together a good team and kept it together. Something that is very very hard to do.

10. Utah. Time to give the devil some due. With two aging vets. Utah reloads and sets up for the future with Deshawn Stevenson, Krilenko, and Bronchardt(?). Next yr, the new Jazz will be interesting. It makes me wonder will they trade Mailman to a team with a shot in order to get young players?

Could you imagine: Malone to Orlando for Grant, Miller, Armstrong, and some picks and players?

Malone/Hill/Tmac/Knight!!!

1)Kings-They have managed to keep Webber

in Sactown and drafting Peja/Turk would could

both start for us easy and getting Bobby Jackson

was good.

2)Clippers-They screw us over on a Lo and they

manage to get two big men this offseason and

of course Andre Miller. They have so much young

talent.

3)Washington-Getting rid of all those bad contract

was AMAZING.If they can get a PG and a center

they will be good to go!

4)Memphis-Talent wise they surely got the best

of us in the Reef deal without question and have

added Drew Gooden to the table plus they got

Jerry West to sign on.

5)New Jersey-After a trip to the finals they improve

their team by adding 6th man Rodney Rogers and

trading overrated player like KVH and Todd Mac for

Mutombo. Now they can start Richard Jefferson and

have Rogers/Harris/Williams/Collins coming off

the bench.Very solid rotation by Eastern Conference

standards.

6)Denver Nuggets-Got rid of the bloated contract

of Nick Van Exel and get rid off most their bad

contracts in exchange for a bloated contract in

Howard that is due to end soon and have two

young forgien players to build their team around

so good job Kiki.Wish we had a GM like you

around here.

7)Dallas-Drafting Dirk alone is enough to get

them in the top 10 but they also do whatever

it takes to win!

8)Houston Rockets-They have Ming and they

drafted Francis and Mobley and they also have

up and comer Eddie Griffin and if that is not

enough they may have got a steal in Nachbar.

9)Seattle-Unloaded Baker and got Joe Forte

and Kenny Anderson in return. They found a

taker for Vin Baker and that must have not

been easy.Aren't giving in to Rashard Lewis

HUGE demands.

10)Cleveland-IF they get Labron James they

have made great moves adding Miles/Waggs

and hopefully LaBron James.Miller probably

didn't want to be there,Cleveland was going

nowhere fast.

How in the hell are the Clipps listed as the second best front office? I mean honestly! You're right, they've assembled quite a team...but when you consistenty trade away lottery picks instead of re-signing them after the rookie contracts for future lotto picks...well, yeah, you can assemble some nice young talent....but they have yet to show that they'll keep it.

Granted the Dre and Brand trades were good...but you can already see the writing on the wall when they drafted two power forwards in the lottery (when they already have the all-star Brand)...just watch, they'll blow up this team too!

If you really want a good look, ask Q what he thinks of Clipps mgt.

Like I said, they shafted our management and

gave us Lo for what turns how to be two lotto

picks.

We have made alot of big trades and we still

suck as of right now, yet Diesel has us at a

top 5 best management when we have a 33

win team from the east playing.

You mean to say that the trade that brought us the man that eventually got us Shareef.... YOU were against?

Shareef for Richardson/PF out of Maryland/Knight!

You are against that trade?

You would rather have Richardson/Pf out of Maryland/ and Knight??

Oh, I forgot that you don't like Shareef too much?

Would I rather have Q Richardson and Pau

Gasol rather than Shareef????Hell yeah!That's

a very good young SG and a upcoming PF

that will be better than Reef next year.

I can't say I was againest it at the time, but

I didn't have a clue of Gasol's potential

because I never seen him play unlike Babcock.

Hell Gasol alone will be better than Reef by the

end of this year.He was already a 17/10 2bpg

player in his rookie season.Babs had two str8 lotto

picks and failed to make us better with either

one of them.We don't have top 10 management.

  • 6 months later...

With our scout staff, who knows if Babcock had seen him play either...they probably bought his rookie tapes rather than the more current ones at the time as the rookie ones were in the discount bin
