  1. That's why I said I didn't think it would keep up, but you never know. Their secondary got a huge pay day and they wouldn't be the first players to regress after signing a contract. But it wasn't just the secondary, their DL was straight up dominated by the Denver OL.
  2. Reggie Bush had a great day against Tampa, I believe Turner and Norwood (Turnwood? Burnwood? Uh...Norner?) are both better. We're going to need to have the running game going or the Bucs will make Ryan's life miserable. Sunday will be a good indication of where we're at.
  3. Ryan is "FAR" more accurate based on what? One day where he made a few nice throws? No one wants Ryan to succeed more than I do (maybe his parents), but let him play more than one game before we make these claims. Honestly that will probably be the easiest game he plays in his career.
  4. The Raiders looked like the worst defense in the league Monday. So much money spent on that secondary and they get torched. Especially Hall. I have seen just about every game of his career and I have never seen him have a worse game. Especially going against a little receiver like Royal. A rook on top of that. I don't think they'll play that badly all year, but if they do, wow. Couldn't happen to a better guy, though. Al Davis needs to retire for the sake of Oakland.
  5. Vince Young and Titan fans can only pray that Young is ever even half as good as Vick. Vick would put the Titans in the AFCCG at least.
  6. The only clown is the guy that bumps threads from over 2 years ago. Bush would have been a safer pick at a position of more impact. I'm still not sure Houston made the right decision. Houston's defense still sucks with Mario, Bush would fit in well with Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson.
  7. Nothing about Marvin's game resembles a PF. The inability to shoot 3's isn't a PF trait.
  8. When he learns to dribble we can start talking about his contract.
  9. Smith is an impact player, Marvin is just there most of the time. He'll hit the occasional open jump shot, he draw a couple of fouls and once in a blue moon he'll make a really exciting play. Meanwhile you have Smith blocking shots, slamming down alley-oops, picking pockets, racking up assists, pulling down impressive boards, getting to the line and hitting the occasional clutch jump shot. Both have their faults for sure, but you really can't make an argument that their impact is even close to the same. Then you factor in that one was the 17th pick and the 2nd or 3rd best player of his draft, the other was the 2nd pick and picked ahead of two franchise point guards who would have been so much better for the team. The fact that a small miracle happened when we landed Horford eases the pain of that '05 draft a bit, but it's still there.
  10. I don't think Duncan would be enough to make the move worth it. He's older, his ability is fading (of course he's still a great player), the injury concerns are growing. Duncan definitely wouldn't like the move. He's used to being able to coast in the regular season. So no.
  11. Eazy, you clearly haven't been following along very well. If you aren't going to actually read and understand my posts then I'm not going to bother. I see you're still pulling stuff out of thin air, though.
  12. Obviously I don't expect Woodson to lead this team to 50+ wins, but you can't blame the organization for him being completely clueless during a game. You don't have to have a perfect environment with a great team to make good coaching decisions.
  13. All you have is a quote from 4 years ago that you got off of the Hawks website. You must be new to sports. Obviously the team and his friends are going to say everything nice they can say about him. I didn't read anywhere in that article where it said he didn't believe in offensive plays. Even though I disagree, let's say Woodson actually had a lot to do with the Pistons defense. Who cares? He hasn't done a thing with the Hawks. You look at lot better as a defensive coach when you have guys like Ben Wallace (4 time DPOY before and after Woodson), Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, Tayshaun Prince, etc. All of these guys are good (or great) defenders without Woodson. Even their back-up PG Hunter was a stud defensively. If you can only be an effective coach when you have the best team then you aren't worth a whole lot to the other 29 teams. I have provided two specific (and extremely important) examples of his coaching, I have records to back me up and the vast majority of the fans agree Woodson sucks. All you can say is that Woodson motivated them to not be bad defensively on occasion...If you got something factual or have an opinion that is based on actual basketball please let me know. I like the discussion, but but quoting 4 year old articles from Hawks.com and saying Woodson motivated Smith to block a shot is retarded.
  14. Dude, you got nothing. I could just as easily say the players played bad defense just to spite Woodson. You can't make an argument with something like that.
  15. "the "defensive mastermind" of the championship Pistons" "It is interesting as how the Pistons have remarkedly been out coached the last two playoffs." So you're giving the credit to Woodson and not Larry Brown? Yeah...ok. "but he has on many occassions motivated these guys to give their best efforts on defense even when they are down 12-15 points" How would you possibly know this?
  16. It's sad that our "best team in years" only needs to win 38 games to make that true.
  17. Heh, I guess so. Like I said earlier, he may been a great assistant under Larry, but an assistant and a head coach are two entirely different things. Plus the Pistons were all vets that probably had no use for him.
  18. What makes you think Woodson is a good defensive coach? Just because they have some stretches of great defense? Every team has great stretches or even great games that go against the usual. The Hawks seem to switch on defense more than any team I watch and this leads to some terrible, unnecessary match ups. The Hawks also have problems adjusting. If a team has some success with a certain play or a certain player, they will milk that for the entire game. Those are two specific things that I'm basing my opinion on, what do you have Eazy?
  19. Thomas isn't a coach anymore, but not even Larry Brown could do anything with the Knicks. Of course, Thomas made that team as terrible as they are.
  20. The players responded to Woodson in the playoffs??? Really? By getting blown out 4 times, the worst beating being game 7? The players responded to the insane Phillips crowd that they never had before that. If Woodson isn't the worst head coach in basketball I don't know who is.
  21. It's obvious looking at the splits that the crowd was the biggest factor. Joe and Smith putting the team on their shoulders in games 3 and 4 helped.
  22. I wasn't Lue's biggest fan, but his 3pt shot was beautiful. But anyway, Joe is a great 3pt shooter. He made 177 of them his last year with PHX shooting 48%. Open or not, PHX or not, that shows his ability as a 3pt shooter.
  23. Woodson is the one that has the Hawks switching every chance they get which puts us in a lot of bad situations. Woodson may be a decent assisstant coach, but he has no business being a head coach.
  24. Washington was pretty good a couple of years ago with a healthy team. Arenas will lose a game for the Wizards, but he'll come back and win a couple with his shooting.
  25. I'd take Joe over Arenas any day, but Arenas is the greatest addition to this division. He played some last year, but not enough to make an impact. This year will be different barring another serious injury. And Toronto was better than us last year without JO, so 60 games is plenty.
