  1. I don't see much of a gap, either. For what Childress gave us around the basket, he didn't give us much on the defensive end or help spread the floor. Whether or not Evans can be a "stopper" doesn't matter, he's without a doubt better than Childress. Then he gives us outside shooting that will let (make) Smith play more around the basket and open things up. I'd rather have Childress, but I think Evans fits this team nicely.
  2. Maybe I'll actually post more now that it's a board I can get used to. I just didn't like the previous one at all.
  3. They have probably never seen an afro like that.
  4. Quote: Quote: BK was never the problem? True, he was never THE problem, but he deserves just as much blame as ownership and Woody. It's a shame he was the only one to leave town. I can't be mad at anyone for this happening. I'll give Sund a chance before I cut him down. Can't say I'm optimistic, though. Hasn't he pretty much had his chance and screwed up completely? I don't like the direction we're going, but you can't write of a GM before his first full season.
  5. I didn't know there were ASG apologists...

  7. It seems you guys would learn to just ignore obvious trolls like Hotlanta1981. Their only purpose is try and bring others down, if you just ignored them they wouldn't know what to do.
  8. What does LMA do for the Hawks? I'd take Horford at center over him all day. LMA is a center in length only.
  9. Then we can trade Joe for Jamal Crawford. Maybe Horford for PJ Brown.
  10. If I had to choose one I'd choose Horford. He's everything you want in a player and a much safer pick. He doesn't have Smith's ceiling, but there's little risk with him.
  11. We're fortunate our franchise is located in Atlanta. We don't have much else working for us.
  12. I just want to see a smarter player. His numbers outside of turnovers don't really need to improve for him to become a much better player.
  13. Quote: Quote: “When you’re inside, you always want a quicker pace — your frustration level’s a little different. Outside looking in, the Hawks really were where they should have been. People say, ‘They should have won 45 games.’ They weren’t capable of 45 wins, in my opinion. They were in Year 4 of a rebuilding process in which the focus was youth, and with it comes inexperience.” Man I hope that the haters read that and take it to heart. Thanks for posting this DrR Just because he says it that makes it true?

    DTOD...

I doubt Golden State does this trade. Wright has serious potential and three years later Marvin is still trying to prove he's a starter. I also don't think Wright is soft as much as he is just weak. He needs to put on a lot of muscle. When I think of soft I think of someone like Dirk who wants to avoid contact.
  15. Joe has all the talent and ability in the world. He can score from anywhere on the floor with efficiency, his handles are as good as anyone's, he has one of the best floaters, solid defender, great size...he just doesn't drive the basketball enough. Doesn't help that we don't really have anyone to take pressure off of him consistently. There's no shame in being behind guys like Wade and T-Mac.
  16. Calderon is better than Bibby at 150%. He isn't close to the player he used to be.
  17. He had plenty of opportunities to develop his bench last year and this year without it hurting the team. And it's not like they didn't perform well when they were in the game. They all bring something that can help the team. There's no excuse for a team to be as bad as we were during the regular season and not use our bench. Even when the starters were dogging it during the last two games of the season after we clinched the playoffs, he still refused to give the bench extended minutes. He's an idiot plain and simple. He needs to go.
  18. I don't have a problem with the foul, but they were being stupid. What Marvin did was the worst thing that ever happen then they applaud KG for what he did. But KG isn't exactly tough blindsiding a guy.
  19. Well he isn't going to say "No, I hope he's fired tonight."
  20. Forget the Hawks perspective, why on earth would the Suns do this? Makes no sense at all. Shaq is better than Bibby and actually useful for the Suns. Shaq didn't hurt the Suns at all, they weren't going to beat the Spurs with Marion. Not sure the numbers but Shaq owned Duncan when they were matched up.
  21. Cassell was getting killed on the scoreboard. They showed a couple different signs on the big screen referencing to aliens and during halftime when they let you text a message I saw a few more. If he wasn't such a jackass I'd feel a little bad for him.
  22. It would without a doubt be the biggest upset in sports history.
  23. If the Hawks get blown out again in Boston I don't see much to be impressed about with Woodson. It's not hard to motivate your players at home in front of a sold out crowd.
  24. He played great tonight, he needs to match it Sunday if we want a chance at hanging with Boston in Boston.
  25. He has been playing solid defense and has gone to the FT line more than any player in the series. He can obviously improve, but he is contributing. He had a good game three. No one played great in Boston.
