Zaza's line looked pretty good until I saw that huge 6 under the TO column. I would love to get ~9/6 from him on decent shooting. We know he has it in him somewhere. If he played well we could see more of Horford at PF. It's also nice to see Law get some added confidence (hopefully) with that game-winning score. At least confidence in his ability to score. What's up with Marvin only playing 13 minutes?

Well, Georgia out gains Tennessee like 450-150, 150-1 on the ground and only wins by 12...This team is extremely frustrating. I keep hoping they'll break out of this sloppy spell but with every game it looks less and less likely. This game should have been put away in the first half.

If they wanted defense and defensive rebounding I can't see them being too thrilled with Childress. Maybe he'll improve over there or just look better because of the competition.

You don't get it, man. I have zero problem with anyone saying a negative comment about Marvin. In fact, I agree with most of them. It becomes "extreme player hating" when you make topic after topic, post after post just doing nothing but bashing the guy and insulting the people who disagree. Everyone understands the way you feel and I'm thinking you'll always feel the same way regardless of any changes in reality. I usually just skip over you threads for this reason, but I was bored before class so I thought I'd chime in. Carry on.

You're not jealous of the millions Marvin is making to do "absolutely nothing" like you say? Man, I'd kill for that. But I wasn't trying to be hip, "player hating" to me means "hating on a player." Anyone who plays a game is a player. And you definitely misunderstood what I said about NBA 2k9, but whatever. ;)

I knew Mo and Chill were different players, but I always thought Mo could be just as impactful doing what he does if not more impactful. Last night was an early indication that it's true. We'll see.

People are too hard on Richt because of the Bama game. It happens to all coaches, the players are the ones playing. He did make Dobbs (IIRC) hit JPW in he facemask on the fumble, he didn't tell Green to hand the ball off to the defense, etc. The great Pete Carroll couldn't get his #1 ranked team to compete with Oregon State, offensive genius Urban Meyer saw his offense get shut down against Ole Miss, Spurrier hasn't done a thing with South Carolina, Saban is looking good this year but his team dropped a game against Louisiana-Monroe last year... That said, Richt is a college coach.

I disagree. Solomon has never played great, but his energy and explosiveness could have been used in several games these last two years. And the only way a player really improves is by playing. Summer league is meaningless. Plenty of good players have played poorly in the summer league.

Yeah, Matt Freije. Thanks. In the short time he was here he had more games with extended minutes than Solomon has had in his career. That makes no sense.

White boy that was strictly a shooter that couldn't shoot a lick got plenty of playing time to prove he was the worst player in the NBA. (his name escapes me) It's not like the Hawks have ever had a good team under Woodson, nothing bad could come from letting guys like Solo, West, Salim and J-Rich work out some of their problems on the court. Solo did play effective minutes for the most part, though. #1 in the entire NBA in blocks per 48 minutes, #5 in offensive rebounds per 48, and non stop hustle. That may not mean much, but it at least counts for something. The Hawks were a team that would have so many terrible stretches it's a crime young guys were locked to the bench. Even when the playoffs were locked up and the starters clearly had no interest in winning against D-Leaguers he would keep these guys on the bench.

Maybe he'll average 5 minutes a game this year instead of 4. As long as Woodson is here all improvement will be minimized. He doesn't seem to realize that a player actually needs to play to learn how to play in this league.

I suggest you read the other posts. And if Speedy doesn't have a reliable jump shot by now he never will.
