  1. I doubt he's going to be traded. We should have paid him last year, but we didn't. Pay him what the market dictates.
  2. Another thing to look at is how we play. People came to see Vick because his runs were highlight reel material. If we were to get D'antoni then our system would be the star. People would come out and see the Hawks if we ran like Phoenix. In our case I still think the way we play can be the star if we make it our purpose to get out and run.
  3. On the heels of the Hotlanta post I wanted to ask what are some of your favorite car chase scenes. For me it's between Ronin and at the end of the 2nd Bourne movie.
  4. For my money it's heat. When Val Kilmer sees the cop across the street he doesn't even blink before he starts firing. All I can say is cold blooded.
  5. I except Joe to continue being Joe. I expect Josh Smith to get more consistent. I expect Al Horford to begin becoming the low post offense threat we need. I don't know first hand about Woody's ability to develop young players but I can say that I believe Horford's offense game increased substantially this season. I expect Bibby to play more consistent and hopefully get back to being clutch. I expect Marvin maybe to understand what the team drafted him at the #2 spot for. He needs to step up and be the consistent second option. During games 5 it was noted that Woody said Marvin needs to step up for the Hawks to win. In game 6 Marvin said he stepped up because everyone kept telling he needed to, but he thought he was playing well already. He needs to stop saying like that and stuff like it's not his fault he was drafted and the #2 spot. Also work out the balance and handle thing. I expect Acie to continue to develop and become the point for this team. I'm not sure Childress will be here, but either way I really don't think he can get much better, but he does alot of dirty work and I like that from him. I expect ZaZa to play hard.
  6. Acie played pretty well this year but everytime he started to get it going he got hurt. I'm still on the keep Bibby all of next season, unless a trade you just can't pass on comes up, but I think Acie will be our point of the future in more of Tony Parker type of way.

    Fired ....

Mike's contract runs out this season. There's no point in firing him.
  8. Quote: The inability to be mentally prepared and execute on the road is on the coaching staff. It's shocking how inept the team looked today in the biggest game of most of these guys' careers. Obviously, Woodson isn't cutting it. I am proud of what the team has done this series. However, this series proves a few undeniable facts. 1. We're too talented to have finished with just 37 wins. 2. Woodson is not the coach to take us to the next level. Don't renew Woods contract, I'm fine with that. Truthfully I was only shocked at how bad Horford played. He really is the only one to ever play in any big games. Josh Smith came straight from high school and never played in college. He never played in big games...ever. JJ was JJ, and I'm a little suprised at Bibby. He doesn't have that big time player in him anymore.
  9. Quote: I think if we resign our FAs, make some tweaks and get a new coach we are a 50 win team next year. I hope for between 45-50. It's absolutely imperative we get better on the road. Our home record this season was as good as anyone in the eastern conference playoffs except Boston and Detroit. Boston 35-6 Toronto 25-16 Philadelphia 22-19 Detroit 34-7 Cleveland 27-14 Orlando 25-16 Washington 25-16 Atlanta 25-16 Hawks were 12-29 on the road. I think we can win as many as 30 games at home with the fans that will come out next season. If we improve 5 games on the road that's close to 50 wins. Go Hawks!
  10. Mike didn't make Childress drive right past a wide open Horford for a layup that PJ brown came over and blocked. He can't make anyone pass to a teammate or dribble better. Phil Jackson lost WITH Kobe in the first round two years in a row to a Phoenix team who just got their teeth kicked in by San Antonio in the 1st round by a who just got their teeth kicked in last night by NO. Who's to blame? I don't know, it happens. In most cases the better team one. In our case as well, the ass kicking from us came because of the players. That my opinion.
  11. I can't say I support Mike but this game and how this team has played on the road I believe boils down to these players. I'll say a large part being young, and other parts lack of effort and focus. I mean, these are pro players. The coach should give these guys the game plan and it should be up to these MEN to execute.
  12. The hawks played great alot this series but I won't be watching the 4th quarter because they have given up so I'll join them. Either way, it was a great time, and I'm still not disappointed overall.
  13. Quote: I will be sure to buy tix for Game 3 Hawks/Cavs! I already tried the First Dibz thing. I'm not completely sure how it works so I hope I don't get screwed.
  14. Has anyone tried this yet. I'm trying it but it not really sure of how it works. I want to know will I be able to pick my seat or any other imformation you might have.
  15. I hate to keep hitching my wagon to the next new crop of rookies we get but it looks like Al Horford and Acie Law have skill sets noone else on the Hawks and are very important pieces going foward. Maybe Al can be a superstar.
  16. Quote: Acie is a much better point guard than Bibby! In that 1st quarter when Bibby was just firing up contested fade away Bricks, the offense looked chaotic. Law came in and actually ran the offense. Just another example of Woodson's inability to develop young talent! Most of the season Acie looked good after a few consistent games with minutes but inevitably he would get hurt and have to reset. Leading up to the end of the season Woody just suddenly stop giving him minutes. IDK why. Truthfully, Boston didn't play that well, but still kicked our teeth in. I hope the good hawks show up in game 3.
  17. I liked what Acie did tonight. I think going foward he will be fine. Woody is the one we need fired. We have no offensive discipline or system. We looked lost on offense.
  18. Western Conference (1) LA Lakers v (8) Denver Nuggets (Lakers in 6) (4) Utah Jazz v (5) Houston Rockets (Jazz in 7) (3) San Antonio Spurs v (6) Phoenix Suns (Suns in 6) (2) New Orleans Hornets v (7) Dallas Mavericks (Mavs in 7) Eastern Conference (1) Boston Celtics v (8) Atlanta Hawks (Celtics in 5) (4) Cleveland Cavaliers v (5) Washington Wizards (Cle in 7) (3) Orlando Magic v (6) Toronto Raptors (Magic in 6) (2) Detroit Pistons v (7) Philadelphia 76ers (Pistons in 5)
  19. LMAO while feeling sorry for this dude. I hope his friends never see this picture. They are going to kill him.
  20. Does anyone know when the draft lottery takes place? No. I just found out and I don't give a damn. Woo hoo. That is all.
  21. Quote: Monty Python and the Holy Grail Hate is a strong word. Are you sure about that.
  22. While I liked the movie I have to agree with not liking the part of Brolin's death. I don't mind so much that he died just that they didn't show it after such a great chess match during the movie. As far as Tommy's comments at the end, he was simply stating how his time has passed and he doesn't fit with people are today thus the name of the movie, no country for old men. Without that part, the title doesn't make any sense to me.
  23. Found this article of Yahoo. Haven't totally read it but wanted to share. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Arxt...=yhoo&type=lgns I was fortunate to play on two NBA championship teams, but I’ve also played for teams that had no possible shot at winning a title. So it’s easy for me to see when a team has that “it” factor. It’s even easier to know when a team doesn’t have it. What do you have to do to become an NBA champion? There are a lot of teams vying for the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy, but only one can have it and this season has the most parity I’ve seen in my years of following basketball. There are telltale signs that show whether a team is ready for the trophy. If you go through this checklist, you can see if your favorite team is ready to win it all or go fishing early. 1. Style of play: A team should have a defined style. Are they a halfcourt team or a fastbreak team? Are they defensive oriented? A team needs a defined style, so when things aren’t going well the players can return to the system’s set principles. 2. A quality point guard and an inside presence: Having an inside-out game is what gets you easy baskets. 3. A superstar: Not a really good player. You need a superstar, a potential Hall of Fame player. Someone who can take over a game. 4. A beast: This doesn’t necessarily have to be your most talented player, though it usually is. You want a player who doesn’t panic when things go bad. A player that takes the big shot or makes the key defensive play. Someone with enough experience to steady the team when the pressure rises. 5. A great bench: You need guys who can come in the game and change the momentum. And if you don’t have anyone who’s even close to being Sixth Man of the Year, you better be wary. 6. Adversity: There is a point in every championship season when the team vows to play harder, smarter and, most importantly, play together. That usually results from adversity and it happens in a variety of ways: an upsetting loss, a players-only meeting, a trade or an injury to a key player. 7. A magic moment: This often follows adversity. Pulling out an important victory when you’re about to lose. A shot that goes in from halfcourt. A record-breaking winning streak. 8. Chemistry: There doesn’t have to be a love fest going on in the locker room, but championship teams need to have players who respect each other and their coach. A team that respects itself is a team that grows. So go down this checklist with an objective eye. You’ll soon know which teams have a chance to be champs and which don’t.
  24. Quote: Likewise, it doesn't take a basketball genius to see over 4 seasons that Woody really doesn't have a coherent vision for this team. It's been like this as an team since this rebuild started. First year Josh is a 3 then he's a 4. Shelden is a 4 then he's a five. Joe is a 1 then he's a 2. Al Harrington was a 4 then he was a 3 when Walker got here, or vise versa. Can't remember. Al Horford is a 5 but he could be a 4 within 2 season.
  25. Quote: Bibbys play was very exciting and if he could have finished on a couple layups late we may have stole the game. On the fast break near the end with Bibby and Joe where Bibby missed the lay-up nobody else ran the floor. Josh, Marvin, and Horford were with them and none of them did this. Woody called the time out after and he was yelling at them for this very reason. These losses are not always Woody's fault. It's the small thing we always have to do to win which we don't.
