But the danger now is that people will think that BK *must* make a trade... rather he must NOT make a trade unless he can get better value from it than drafting Horford and Law... nothing's changed there. rapters GM said he's not going to trade Calderon to anyone. They also said he turned down an offer in the top 10 pick for calderon.
  2. Quote: I've actually had the Fan on since I left the office at 5 and they made mention of a rumored deal but never said a deal was done. Yeah... like they'll be the first one to know.
  3. If a good team get Gerald Wallace or Billups, they'll be on the list.
  4. Amare will play center. There will be no one else besides Shelden and Solomon to play center.
  5. You name's Wang Chung and you don't want YI here? Come on, where's the Asian love?
  6. Man.. I was hoping they trade Lue instead of AJ. I like AJ in that lineup starting when Speedy goes down.
  7. What if we got Amare and he broke his leg again (eg: K-Mart). What then?
  8. Quote: My only concern would be how do we afford to Keep Josh Smith next summer? Hawks'll be like the Suns now... owners don't wanna pay luxury taxes.
  9. Quote: I don't think you push your luck with this trade. IF you can get Amare without trading Marvin, JJ, or Smith, you do whatever it takes, IMHO. IDK... Phx is nothing without Nash...
  10. Quote: Yis game just seems like he could break out next season right away and give a team 14-17 ppg. Not at the center position.
  11. Quote: Woodsen talks as if he wants to have T. Lue back which is a mistake. Anthony Johnson will help this team more with his basketball IQ than Lue's streak shooting. I'm hoping Lue gets traded so Woodson have to play AJ.
  12. Quote: I think Speedy and Lue are insurance, more than the point guard we draft. If Conley's or Law is the point guard we draft no doubt that both would start. I think at least 30MPG for either one. We can't count on Speedy (um I mean Craig) for probably more than half the season. Not with Woodson coaching. He rarely give rookies any minutes over veterans. He didn't give j.Smith, Marvin or Shelden any PT to play with in the rookie season no matter how they play.
  13. Quote: LOL they were both starters for us at one point. That's sad. Bozeman sucked more. Freije could shoot FT's and made a few threes What's even sadder was the fact Woodson started them over better talent sitting on the bench.
  14. Quote: Quote: I think you also have to look at this from the ownership's perspective as well. Think of how many of these new jerseys will be sold in China if the Hawks draft Yi. It would be a big marketing boon for the Hawks. I could care less about how many jersey's the hawks sell. I'm more concerned about winning games. Maybe the ownership is thinking the same thing and that's why Yi is most likely not in the mix at the #3 pick. He's a project, his numbers next year wouldn't be any better than Marvin's rookie numbers. Also I wouldn't won't Mike Woodson anywhere near another international player. The hawks are a BAD fit for Yi. Umm... Yi is likely to be pick #3 because they want more jersey sells (if that is what they want to do).
  15. Quote: Quote: I know its a Smoove compilation and Marvin looks bad in comparison, but check out his monster block around 1:03. Also, his monster dunk on Camby shows his athleticism too (youtube search it). Same with his dunk on Smoove in a HS all-star game (search for that one too). I think Marvin is defintaely athletic enough. Yall are right that he isnt in top teir with Smoove, Iggy, Amare, Nate Robinson, etc... but he is definately in the 2nd tier (Jefferson, Deng, etc.) IF you wanna see some Amazing blocked shots ..check out this video I was that game were he chases down Keith Van horn on the fastbreak nice
  16. Quote: Exodus is right. He was never defending Yi because Yi don't need defense. Exodus has been trying to save face the whole time. It was a couple of weeks ago when most of the swingers were on the YI bandwagon.. Then you hear Exodus say " I have to take back what I said about Yi, he is very fast blah blah blah... He might not be able to play Center blah blah blah..." That's not defending Yi. He's just trying to be on the fence. But I'm glad now that he has crossed over to the reach side of the fence. ON draft night, Conley will fall a long way. We will see exactly how much of a reach a PG with no shot falls. Then Ex will proclaim something like he's always liked Horford or some bs... Bottom line, Don't trust Ex... Go and see for yourself. The guy shoot 52% from the field as a freshman. That's all I have to say about his scoring ability.
  17. Quote: Not saying that I would necessarily do it but it works. Zaza/Solomon Randolph/Shelden Smoove/Marvin JJ/Chillz/Salim Jack/Speedy Follow that up with Zaza/#11 for Camby. Camby/Solomon Randolph/Shelden Smoove/Marvin JJ/Chillz Jack/Speedy Not bad. Camby j.Smith Marvin JJ Conley Even better.
  18. "every HOFs were rookies once" You got to start somewhere.
  19. Quote: Quote: I don't get the Brevin Knight comparison, can you explain it to me? Both are small, though obviously Knight is smaller. Both have games built on their quickness. Both will/have habitually be beaten in post-up situations with larger guards. Both have earned reputations as floor generals. Both have earned reputations as less-than-average shooters. Both will/have encourage teams to drop back and not respect their shot, adding clutter to the lane. That's what I see. Conley is just a happenstance beneficiary that there's no PG in this draft as credible as the players at all 4 other positions are credible... it's the almost the same as if Spencer Hawes were the best C prospect coming out... if that were the case, people would be hyping him about 3-4 slots above (if not more) where he belongs. I guess you can compare Knight to Kidd also.
  20. The difference is Conley Jr is seen as a top 5 pick where as the other two guards are seen as top 15-20 picks.
  21. Interesting that the Spurs are in on the picks. I wonder who they have in mind...
  22. Quote: Quote: As far as ready right now, I'd much rather have Law/Noah over Hawes/Conley. Hawes, who will probably be gone by 11, and Conley are both considered by most scouts as not completely ready right now. They're both going to need some maturing. Frankly, I want this team to win this year! I don't think we need any more "project players" or long-term prospects. Really? I don't see Conley or Hawes as projects. I know they're both young, but I expect them to contribute their rookie years on lottery teams. I want this team to win this year, too. I think this team right now will easily fighting for a playoffs spot when healthy. I see the #3 and #11 as bonus picks really. If they take Conley I expect them to go deep in the playoffs.
  23. No. Why not just take Noah then Law if that's the case?
