  1. I would offfer Joe 5 years at 14 million a year. He remains are all-star and would be making a fair sum of money. IDK about 15 million though.
  2. I love having these nationally televised games! I see some people on hear complaining about not having enough but I excited! 7 games on ESPN is a lot. Can't wait for the season to get started!
  3. I say we go after Siler and Hakim Warrick or Pops before we think about Petro. Chris Mihm is a big man I wouldn't mind having. He put up decent numbers as long as he is healthy. Hell No to Sheldon Williams. I don't want him back at all. He is horrible!!! If we can get Siler and one more young, athletic player then we could have a very powerful bench. Lets get Flip back as well!
  4. Until Joe shows up in the playoffs and when we play on national tv he is good. He does choke is huge situations. He is still our leader and a hell of a player. I see him breaking out this year and putting up big numbers. imo
  5. Mo does the job fine. Marvin and Joe rotate too. Focus on big men!
  6. WHO CARES!!! I though this is an Atlanta Hawks forum?

    Mike Taylor

Only after we offer Flip Murray a contract. After that then yes go after this guy. He is young and very explosive. Would be a great addition to an already good bench. But only after Flip.
  8. This doesn't bother me what so ever. The media never thinks Atlanta will do anything. I love proving these guys wrong every year! They just don't know what they are talking about! If our team has improved from last year and we were a 4 seed. How can we get that much worse of just basing that Crawford has never been in the playoffs and Al is still at center??
  9. If I had to pick one I would choose Joe Smith. He puts up solid numbers for a vet and is a tough defensive player as well. Ben Wallace looked dead last year. I don't really think he would fit in well with the Hawks. At this point in his career I don't think he has anything to offer. Bruce Bowen would add good defensive presence and a vetern mentalilty but what has happened to his offensive game? I am still in favor of bringing in two younger, more athletic big men. Add Siler and bring in Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Chris Mihm, Hakim Warrick, and resigning Flip Murray and Mario West.
  10. I just hope Siler proves to be good and a quality bench contributer. He sure does have the size.
  11. He is a great 6th man option. We don't have to have him starting. Our starting lineup is strong. Having Crawford come off the bench is huge. Now if we could only talk Flip into coming back.
  12. Lest go Hawks! Good move resigning Marv. I love having the same starting lineup.
  13. I think that Woodson is going to rotate the roster a little bit different now that Crawford is coming off the bench. If Siler turns out to be the player is being written out to be then we may be suprised. I'm not saying he is a short term big solution. I'm saying he could work his way into a valuable option off the bench. Something that Solo or Randolph could not do. He would be that guy that saves Al and Zaza a few breathes at the end of a quarter. I hope he turns out to be better then Solo or Randolph.
  14. Dumb stat. Woodson has made it to the playoffs twice. Whether you like him or not he was the coach that coached our team into the playoffs. He is the coach that has coached our team to a better record every year. He is the coach that hung with us during our reboulding years. He got us to a home court advantage in the 1st round. He coached us into the 2nd round.
  15. I don't like any of the three. We should go after Hakim Warrick, Skiler, and Pops. Skiler is banging with the big boys and his precense off the bench may be pretty good?
  16. I think Marvin knows he is being asked to be a 3rd or 4th option. He knows he is not the scorer that Joe Johnson or Mike Bibby are being asked of. He knows he is not going to be asked to be the explosive scorer that Josh Smith can create. He has a great jump shot that is really clutch when Joe is being doubled or they are swinging the ball around the top. He is a solid tool in this starting lineup. Now that he is a threat behind the 3 point line, he makes his mark on this team as an option to give the ball to and have faith that he connects with a jumper when you need it. His drive to the rim from the side is strong and his defense isn't bad. As long as he is healthy is does his job very well.
  17. Bring Bonsu in! He would make a solid bench player for Smith, Horford. Very athletic, good defense, player that can still improve his game. Can get him cheap! I like him above Joe Smith.
  18. Who are you refurring to when you say "these players need to learn how to be NBA players"? I think Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson are leaders on this team. What is Joe Smith going to do? Teach Josh Smith something? I doubt that. Marvin Williams, Al Horford, and even Josh Smith are very solid NBA players. Josh Smith had vetern players flooting around while he was playing. Kenny Anderson, Jon Barry, Kevin Willis, Tony Delk, Antione Walker. Marvin Williams grew up with Joe, Tony Delk, and Al Harrington Al has had Bibby, Joe, Zaza, etc... I would much rather spend less money and aquire a couple young athletic players that can still improve their game. Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson are solid vets to me. Al Horford is a great guy to learn from. He plays like a vet.
  19. He will not land in Atlanta. At least I hope he doesn't. I wouldn't want to pay Smith 3 mill to back up Smoove, average 5 to 6ppg, and "teach" our players a thing or two. Why not bring in a couple young guys for very cheap that are athletic, can score, and can still learn and improve their game.
  20. I like the idea. How about Pops Mensah-Bonsu and Garret Siler?? Then we don't have to worry about Smith. Still wouldn't mind seeing Hakim Warrick in the ATL though.
  21. I don't know. Morris got absolutly no playing time. I bet his playing time goes up this year. He has size and can bang down low. If given the chance and confidense to bang with the big boys he might turn out not to be all that bad. I don't expect him to become a stand out back up but if he can consistently provide quality minutes off the bench then I'm all for him. -Resolve the Marv issue. Give him a nice contract. -Sign Siler -Sign Hakim Warrick
  22. I don't want Smith. He is getting old and his game is far from what it used to be. Warrick is young, explosive, and good option for a backup PF. I would give him a 3 yr deal but I would try and settle the Marvin deal first. I am all for Siler as well. I don't understand why we don't give him an offer.
  23. I hope Teague turns out to be great. If we could land Joe Smith that would be huge. I liked Solo and wished he would have turned into something better but he wasn't going to get the playing time. I hope it doesn't bite us in the *ss.
  24. Just sign and trade the man. Its obvious he doens't want to come back to Atlanta. I don't really think he was running his mouth. It seems like he is being short to me.
