  1. A 35-year-old 'Nique was better than Danny Manning could ever be - under ANY circumstances.
  2. This shouldn't even be up for debate. Trading 'Nique for Danny Manning was the most asinine thing that the Hawks have EVER done. Not only did they trade 'Nique, but the Hawks also GAVE the clippers a 1st round pick if I'm not mistaken, as if Manning was a better player than 'Nique. If anything, the Hawks should have been the team getting the 1st round pick. I truly believe that if the Babcock and Kasten would have left good enough alone and not screwed with the team, that the Hawks would played for the championship that year. 'Nique was on a mission. Furthermore, I didn't even know that Koncak was getting paid more than 'Nique until this post. If that's actually true, then Babcock is truly one of the dumbest people to ever step on a basketball floor. There is no way that you can EVER justify a player like John Koncak getting paid more than a player like 'Nique.
  3. Quote: I am skeptical about that. Did the Clippers really offer Brand $81/million over 5 years? I haven't read anything about that. You can be skeptical about it all you want, but as I said earlier, they had Mike Dunleavy on ESPN TV this morning talking about it. Therefore, you probably haven't read about it being that Mike Dunleavy just called into ESPN this morning. Dunleavy said that they tried to bypass Brand's agent and just work a deal with him, and he said that Brand was cool with it, but then Brand just went AWOL after Baron Davis was signed, and nobody on the team or any of his friends could reach him. I seriously doubt that Dunleavy is lying about something like that. That kind of thing is too easily verifiable.
  4. I just got done watching ESPN. They were saying that Elton Brand was the one that started the negotiations to bring Baron Davis to the Clippers. Mike Dunleavy was on the phone and said that Elton came up with idea and that Elton was the one that started saying that he'd take less money to play with Baron so that the numbers would work. They pretty much had a deal in place, and Baron thought that he was going to the Clippers in order to play with Elton Brand, being that it was all Elton's idea. Mike Dunleavy thought it was a done deal. At the last minute, Elton Brand pulled out and signed a deal with the 76ers for only about $1 million dollars more over the life of the contract. So, basically, the Clippers offered him the same amount of money as the 76ers. With that being said and the truth coming out, I can really see the Clippers making a strong, strong push for Josh Smith. I just hope the ASG is ready to open up their wallets so that the Hawks can keep Smith. The longer this offseason goes, the more worried I'm getting about Smith being retained as a Hawk.
  5. Quote: I would be mad as hell! Kenny Smith is a Hawks Hater! Exactly. There is no way he could be the GM of the Hawks after the comments he made on national TV.
  6. Now, if we can Woodson to resign, we'll be in business!
  7. This is a no-brainer. It's Chris Paul by a country mile.
  8. Well, if Woody specifically asked for Chris Paul, and Knight chose to get Marvin instead, then Knight should be fired ASAP. Chris Paul is just sick. He'll go out of his way just to embarrass you. I've seen him do it to Kidd and I saw him do it to Bruce Bowen the other night too.
  9. Quote: Quote: Trading Smoove would be the dumbest move in Hawks' history next to trading 'Nique for Danny Manning. How so, Nique an legend, Smoove sucks. That's like the T'wolves trading Garnett and saying trading Randy Foye is on that level. Well, if you actually paid attention to the words, you would see that I said NEXT to trading 'Nique. Therefore, I wasn't putting it on the same level, but it would be the dumbest move they've ever made since trading 'Nique, unless you want to throw in passing on CP3 and Deron Williams.
  10. Quote: Quote: If you think that I want Woody gone just for the sake of making a change, then you didn't read a word of what I typed and you also haven't been paying attention to what Woody has been doing for the past few years. And you half read what I stated. I stated that CONTINUITY should be the focus right now because there is no sure fire great coach that would propel this team. You going to take Avery Johnson, a guy who made possibly the worst coaching decision ever when he went away from his starting lineup that gave them a league best 67 wins in the series vs Golden State? The best guy available is Mike D'Antoni. And we don't have Steve Nash, Josh Smith is not offensively advanced like Amare, and that Ole defensive philosophy for this undiciplined defensive team would be a complete disaster. Continuity of what??? If your head coach is continuously making bad decisions, then why would you want to continue down that road??? Continuity just for the sake of continuity is not necessarily a good idea either. Throw in the fact that our coach is constantly making bad decisions, then wanting continuity in that vein just sounds plain idiotic in my opinion.
  11. Trading Smoove would be the dumbest move in Hawks' history next to trading 'Nique for Danny Manning.
  12. Quote: There isn't a no brainer top notch coach available right now that would lead this team to elite status. We are much better going with continuity both on the roster and among the coaching ranks. Why screw with what has progressed every single year? If we don't go above .500 next season growing from this playoff experience and our young players progressing, then sure you could lash out at the coach. But right now with the way we've improved every year, and the fact that there isn't exactly a Phil Jackson out there, why the hell would we just make a change for the sake of making a change? That's what Dallas and Phoenix did on their rosters and both of those teams got eliminated in the first round and possibly screwed up their future. Cleveland got away with it in the first round but they will be exposed in the 2nd. Making changes for the sake of making them is NOT the way to go in this situation If you think that I want Woody gone just for the sake of making a change, then you obviously didn't read a word of what I typed and you also haven't been paying attention to what Woody has been doing for the past few years.
  13. Quote: So a straight up Bibby for Redd trade would work? As much as I want to see Bibby play one full season here before I base my opinion...I'd do this trade in a second. I can't understand why anyone would want Bibby back to play a full season here. He's a point guard that can't create his own shot. What more do you need to see?
  14. Screw what Joe wants. Woody needs to go. If his team had put up a little more resistance in game 7, then I would have said that he earned an extension. However, being that they completely laid down and being that Woody wouldn't even give guys like Salim a shot to see if they could come in and generate some offense, I don't want him back. Woodson has puzzled me this whole series with his steadfast reliance on Mike Bibby. I think anybody with two properly functioning eyes could see that Bibby was pretty useless out there on the court, especially in Boston. Yet, Woody kept on putting him back in while giving Acie 5 minutes per game, acting as if Bibby was our best option or something. Heck, Bibby couldn't even hardly dribble the ball this series and he struggles with just making it past the 3-point line against Rondo. Woody is one of those coaches that just sticks with veterans, regardless if they suck or not. If Tyronn Lue and Anthony Johnson were still on the team, they would have been getting all of the minutes while Acie wasted away on the bench. Zaza gets minutes but Solomon Jones can't get minutes - as if Zaza is so much better than him??? Are you freakin' kidding me??? That's why Woodson has to go. He has proven that he's incapable of making smart decisions or showing any kind of foresight. As much as I loved the playoff run, Woody is still a weak link in the chain and he must go.
  15. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FU*CKING KIDDIN' ME!!!!!!!! This is embarrassing. These guys are playing like a bunch of scrubs in the biggest game of their lives. Inexcusable!!!!! If these guys don't wanna play, then put in Salim, Richardson, Law and Solo. To perform like this in Game 7 is beyond ridiculous. Guys losing the ball for no reason. Guys getting stripped. Making stupid passes. Missing easy shots. Not rebounding. Turning the ball over for no apparent reason. This is awful. They need to at least ACT as if they belong. I don't wanna hear this crap about them being young anymore. It's time for them to man up and play like grown men.
  16. Josh Smith needs to pull himself together and start playing some f*cking ball. If he's scared, then he needs to sit down. If I was Joe or Woodson, I'd call him out. I'd ask him if the real Josh Smith was gonna show up, or if the scared b*tch that we're all seeing is gonna remain in his place.
  17. Yeah, he's playing like a scared [censored].
  18. These guys have gotta step up and pull their heads out of their butts
  19. Yep. That's the only reason I haven't gone to bed yet. I want to see what old "loud mouth" has to say.
  20. Quote: I think it has more to do with Woody's lovefest for Childress than anything. Childress is basically a SF version of Zaza... only thing he's good for is offensive rebounds. You can't be serious. Childress is far and away better than Zaza.
  21. Bibby is a huge liability in this series. He's slow, can't dribble, can't create a shot, can't play defense, and can't pass very well. If his shot is off, he's a complete waste on the court. I don't understand why Woodson is so slow to catch on. Putting Acie in the game would open up some things for the offense, but Woody's just too dumb to see it. If I see Bibby struggling to try to get past the 3-point line again, I'm going to scream.
  22. I'd like to see Marvin try to shoot just one 3-pointer on purpose. Just one. That guy is unbelievable. He's too p*ssy to even try to become a 3-point threat. If teams live him open, they just have to worry about getting burned for 2. If you leave Ray Allen open, you have to worry about getting burned for 3. Marvin would open up things so much for the offense if he'd stop being such a p*ssy and actually try to be a 3-point threat.
  23. Yep, as far as I'm concerned, we're rivals now. After that crap that punk Pierce pulled in Game 3, and after what that chump Garnett did in Game 4, I officially hate the Celtics now. I just hope the Hawks can keep up that same level of disdain for the Celtics.
  24. Much like the members of the *big three*, the Celtics' fans are a bunch of whiners.
  25. I think Stern dodged it because I don't think Stern wants to give "the NBA is nothing but a bunch of thugs" crowd any fuel to add to the fire. He's worried about the image of the game, which is actually a smart move on his part.
