  1. You all shouldn't get your panties in wad with preferred prospects. The combine usually tells the tale and it should be an epic center vs. center workouts along with some 4s thrown in there. Might just subscribe to some hack draft site just to read it all up. The problem now is the Sprockets came stop winning and Drew trying to mess up our draft standing on his way out.
  2. They have Houston's top 14 protected (projected to be 17-21 overall) and their top 40 2nd round pick (projected to be 47-50 overall) along with our own picks. Should be the most fun draft night since 2007.
  3. JS is a perfect fit in Houston. When they say they are playing a high ocatne style, it's exactly that. With Osik there, it allows him to roam like a dinosaur on defense making him very dangerous. They already develop D League talent like Greg Smith and Beverly pretty well into their system. Can't blame ESPN for this one, Atlanta hasn't signed a marquee free agent in so long since probably Mutumbo.
  4. He let other teams lineup dictate when we go big or not. He's the one to blame for not going with a set lineup and creating doubt on the style of play.
  5. Just seeing another fanbase reading this and reaffirming their thoughts this is the worst fanbase in the country. "Fans" like this were probably cheering for the big market teams while making the Hawks "his favorite second team". Shameless.
  6. Drew and Casey should have never been the finalists for this team. For the Kittens and Craptors, it's reasonable but not for a team that is playoff ready and needs someone to take it to the next level.
  7. The thing I didn't like was he had the audacity to get mad when he was confronted on getting beat on 3 plays in a row by an average guy like Felton. He plays defense like Bibby, it's uncanny. He has to give more effort on defense than offense, no other way around it.
  8. Mike Dunleavy would be the perfect option if KK leaves. Does everything better except shoot 3s and he's shooting 42-43 % with the Bucks.
  9. Iggy is getting too old at 29. His scoring has already leveled off at around 12.5 ppg these past two years. The free agency will be a good for us I believe. I would love to acquire Jack and Rush for 10 million combined, 12 at most. They effectively replace Devin and KK if the latter wants too much. Would go all out for Pek. His body hasn't been beat up by the NBA, alot tread left on his legs (23 mins. a game in 3 seasons). The front office has to decide if they want Josh at the 3 full time/altogether. He can bully nearly all small forwards on the block not named Lebron and is starting to get respect with routine double teams on iso posts. Teague - Lou Jack - Rush - JJ Josh - Rush - 1st rounder Al - Ivan Pek - 1st rounder - Zaza perhaps Talented starting line up and probably the best 2nd unit the team has had in a while
  10. So is Eddy Curry eligible for a playoff roster. Fesenko would look good right now. Hell Keith Benson would look nice sitting on the bench.
  11. Scoring is up from 96.6 to 97.7 a game from last season. Also the overall fg percentage is up from 45.4 to 46.5 a game (noice). All that with a lower team free throw percentage from 74 % to 71 % this season while attempting lower attempts to boot. Not saying Joe gave us empty points but when some says a team is losing 20 points a game, that's not a correct statement. It's almost addition by subtraction in this instance. A decent all around big would have us competing with Miami imo. Joe was nice and all but it's just glaringly clear where our priorities should lie.
  12. A team without Joe while Lou is missing the 2nd half of the season to boot. The Big 3s progression would have been much more progressed if they would have let Joe and Duck go at free agency. Missed Zaza for much of the season too. The question is now do we want to match up with NYK or BKN.
  13. Congrats for this team to clinch a spot with 10 games left.

    Andrew Bynum!?

I'll take out a large one year deal with him. It's obvious his knees needed a year and not "until January" to recover. He tried to return but wasn't ready. The difference between him and Oden is the former has actually played full seasons. I would rather throw big money at Pek and mid tier money at Splitter.
  15. Again every team will be required to spend 52 million or more for next year. I'm guessing they'll raise the luxury tax threshold a few million higher in the future. It might be smarter to just build a deep team or around one mega star. The Big 3 phenomenon hard to manage. Even if you do build one like the Lakers top 3, it doesn't even guarantee the playoffs. Minimum team salary • 2005 CBA: Teams must spend at least 75 percent of the salary cap. • 2011 CBA: Teams must spend at least 85 percent of the cap in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and at least 90 percent of the cap in later years of the agreement. • Who benefits? The players. Although it was once rare for teams to be below the salary cap, it became more common in the latter years of the 2005 agreement as teams struggled to cope with financial markets. For example, the Sacramento Kings traded for Marquis Daniels at the 2011 trade deadline because their payroll was below the 75 percent minimum. By raising the salary floor, teams are required to spend more money on player salaries. The higher salary floor could also affect teams' amnesty decisions. Teams might decide to hang on to high-salaried players rather than amnesty them in order to meet the new minimum team salary requirements.
  16. Has this been validated or you actually taking "Mayhem in the AM" words for it. You don't bench a guy when the team is dropping like flies to injury, it's absurd. He and Teague are listed as questionable for Fri. I say sit them out until they are relatively pain free. It will force Drew to dig deep into the lineup and perhaps a bench guy can distinguish himself for the stretch run. Same thing happened to Teague vs. the Bulls.
  17. What are you all talking about. Heavy amount of Cali transplants in the city which came to see their team play. The local Kobe fans as well. The city has been invaded by transplants, they are getting closer every year to taking over jobs, culture, everything. Randomly ask 10 strangers where they're from and atleast 5 will not say Atlanta. Difference between Miami and LA is the Lakers have the brand. 5 years from now without Kobe, the same crowd will come out and cheer for them no matter what. In 5 years when Miami's big 3 have dispersed, no one will come out for the Heat including their fans. Superstars draw out the Atlanta crowd like no other. This is why they have to snag Dwight. It goes beyond the basketball X's and O's.
  18. This is on par with my wishlist. Except you have to resign Josh to legitimize the defense. Golden State is hell bent not to pay the tax and that's where Jack and Rush (4m option) come into to play. I would be happy to match the 4 million a year for Rush and wait on his recovery. Splitter along with the other two really accentuates the core 3 I feel. Mayo I compare to Jefferson. They produce alot of empty numbers and play poor defense You will need very strong help defenders to make it work. They will also demand 10-14 million a year.
  19. I can't see why Joe had so many "to the death of me" supporters around here where you would sacrifice an even brighter future to accommodate an ominous ending situation. I appreciated Joe highly but not nearly as much as Steve Smith. I was more than ready to move on from him when the time was right(not the JR Rider trade), but at a point where Smitty was markedly declining
  20. Tolliver and Harris are on pace for career high in 3 point attempts, both 31.8 and 32.5 career shooters respectively. Coincidentally or not both are on pace for career low free throw attempts. Josh is on pace for career high on 3 ball attempts as is Teague. Al mentioned he wants to work on 3 pointers in the near future... no mention of post moves. Stevenson's field goal attempts comprise of 85% threes. Of course one dimensional guys like KK and Jenkins will shoot 3s, a given. THIS GODDAM OFFENSE HAS NO STRUCTURE. It all falls on Drew. This will never work in the playoffs. The Drew timeline has run it's course. This "free flowing long range jump shooting offense" is like Paula Deen cooked crack to Josh and apparently everyone else, the epitome of fools gold. We attempt nearly 24 3pa to 19.3 fta which is pure madness. I guarantee you that's the worst ratio in the league. Edit: NYK has a worse ratio. Woody coaches that team... it all comes together, I rest my case.
  21. Romo has outstanding talent and cast around him. It's essentially Josh, Al, and a lesser extent Teague down the stretch. The talent level drops off tremendously after that. Drew probably doesn't trust Jeff enough for him to make plays for himself and others during crunch time.
  22. There are only two players capable of making plays for teammates: Josh and Jeff. The team lost it's other play maker with Lou so Drew can only work with what he has at the moment. Boston has great depth and solid talent to match. The team needs a shooting guard that can make plays for others which entails lowering play making responsibilities for JS and JT. Guys like Evans and Jack are out there but it's slim pickings for the position.
  23. What Ferry did was essentially flip our previous flight path with the Nets. Solid albeit older/poor athletic core that's slowly turning into a treadmill team that can only acquire talent by absorbing the highest of salaries. The stars had to align perfectly for him to get rid of Joe so luck was in our favor. The difference between he and Josh is the latter can still net talent back in a trade a couple years down the road.
  24. If you make plays for a team that doesn't have a closer I don't see how you can become a "liability". If he was a team with Robert Horry, Tim Duncan, Parker, Manu then I suppose he's a offensive liability but on this team no.
